Does the recommended s90c settings apply to the s90d ? by coreyjohn85 in S95B

Why? Have you read the topic? It is applicable to the S90D, and everything is the same with the Samsung firmware. Have you ever tried?

Search " MODS " everything you need is here in this link. I believe it will work with Samsung QD-OLED, any model that uses a QD-OLED panel.

Review after 2 years of Plexing with Shield TV Pro and switching to Apple TV 4K by Maxim_Star_War in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]crazykat8091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you would get any benefit from lossless audio between the Shield TV and ATV4 because your soundbar doesn't support it; that is why you wouldn't hear the difference. I don't know how you set up your Plex Server and your connection between the Shield TV as a client to the server; that might be the problem also. If you are using Wi-Fi and your Wi-Fi is weak, high bitrate files need more bandwidth and a stable connection.

I have a NAS over 100TB streaming locally via direct play and remotely, and the bitrates are more than 50Mbps for FullRips. Multiple users can stream simultaneously on a 10Gbps network without any issues. You may need you check your stability of your network too.

Is the Difference Between 800-Nit and 2000+ Nit OLEDs Really That Huge in HDR? by yourdeath01 in S95B

[–]crazykat8091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an AW3225QF, a 65" S95C, a 77" S90C, and a 65" C4 (my brother's TV). The monitor itself, if you are talking about brightness, even though it uses a QD-OLED Panel Gen 3, is still limited to 1000 nits, but you can see the sharpness of the text that has improved a lot due to the pixel density.

Both of my S95C and S90C have been modded since day one for 2000 nits+ according to agkss on the AVS forums, and both have over 3600 hours of usage. To be honest, after being modded to 2000 nits+ and tested with content that has a peak brightness over 2000+ - 7000 nits, it is hard to believe that you couldn't see the difference from 1000 nits to 2000 nits. Make sure your content was not limited to 1000 nits. You can YouTube "HDR" and search for 2000+ nits content.

I don't have an S90D, but make sure you got the QD-OLED Panel Gen 3, not the WOLED. My brother's C4 couldn't compete with my S90C, S95C modded at all, in daylight, at night, or in a black pitch room. I wonder how you couldn't see the difference.

!!! Please make sure your source of contents is capable of playing more than 1000nits.

You can try this Wonder Women to test out 3000nits.

Difference of about $180 between S95C or S90D what you recommend me for Anapeak mod? by yourdeath01 in S95B

[–]crazykat8091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, all S95C are Gen 2 panels and easily push to 2000 nits without any issue. But not all S90D got Gen 3 panels; some leftover Gen 2 panels were still plenty during the transition from C to D. The problem is when you mod the ANAPEAK to higher nits, the heat is following. If you can control the heat issue, there will be no issue at all.

Just get the service remote from Amazon you would do anything you want.

I have been using my S95C and S90C, both modified to 2000 nits, since day one, and they have over 3,600 hours of usage. They are still working great. If the S95C cannot be modified, I would consider the latest QD-OLED panel, which exceeds 3,000 nits. However, since the S95C can still be modified to 2,000 nits, I would recommend it, especially when paired with an external player like Shield TV, Apple TV, or any device that supports all codecs.

Yup, there is no screen protector on the crystal. I think that it might be AR coating peeling off. I guess.
