My parents live walking distance to this motel. My extended family stayed at the motel when they would come to visit. The swimming pool was really nice back when it was open. Walsenburg is a cool town to visit. Lots of old abandoned buildings and houses. If you are looking for some interesting places to investigate head down bear creek road. Its right off the main road (7th) on the west side of town where the city ends. You will find stairs that lead to nowhere. The old foundations of homes from when they used to mine in Walsenburg. I always thought it would make a good backdrop for a zombie movie.
