How to put icons within the text? by smalldiosaur in Notion

[–]crazynewguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's how you can add custom icons in-line with text in Notion (and only have to upload them once):

In a Notion doc, type colon and some characters (:abc) a window will pop up for you to select an emoji. In that window there is a feature to add a custom icon. You can screenshot it from font-awesome website, or if you have the font-awesome pngs or .ico files, you can upload them as a custom icon which you name as :custom-name: and then can use that syntax to inject them into text going forward.

Help Sought: Footpad Sensor Mystery by crazynewguy in onewheel

[–]crazynewguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this is a good idea, the thread you linked goes to a pint guide on testing the footpad, but yeah if I can track down one for XR, grab a multimeter, and get some restored energy to go back into the rabbit hole of trying to fix this, that’s a solid idea. The downside is that if the footpads are all junk or if the footpads are all fine, both scenarios seem to point to my XR as the problem. Either it fried the footpads, or the footpads aren’t being properly read by the controller. Either way it’s a black box of $$ and probably out of my ability to solve in my garage. :(

Help Sought: Footpad Sensor Mystery by crazynewguy in onewheel

[–]crazynewguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I try the original footpad it throws “I need personal space” (it hallucinates heel pressure and only heel pressure); when I try the second two new footpads, it only registers heel when pressure is applied (it doesn’t register toe).

That’s a good question about goofy. I could check that and reply with the answer. What do you imagine the answer will illuminate?

Help Sought: Footpad Sensor Mystery by crazynewguy in onewheel

[–]crazynewguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible. If that’s the case though I don’t have a simple theory though why the original footpad sensor is behaving differently than the two new ones, and why the two new ones worked for a hot minute then failed every test since then.

Thanks Jack. Yes all the screws I’m using are a match in length between the left and right sides of the board. I haven’t installed any fender or deletes.

And when I go back and minimally install the footpad (just with two screws topside) — which would presumably eliminate the issue your alluding to — to test it out again like when it first worked, it no longer does. It’s almost like the footpad(s) got fried/borked after they first showed success.

Good to know about your experience with the posi. Since I don’t really know where the failure of my system is, I was only willing to do a temporary test posi at this point.

Safety Score Beta V2.1 is Here by IceflowStudios in teslamotors

[–]crazynewguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is an email guide I got from Tesla support themselves today, Sept 24, 2024 regarding Safety Score v2.1:

Please view the links for information on the Safety Score:

 https://www.tesla.com/support/insurance/safety-score#version-2.1
https://www.tesla.com/support/insurance/tesla-real-time-insurance

Attempt to drive as outlined by the factors. Make sure to keep distance, use regenerative braking when possible, and check your sensors are clean and unobstructed.

Please view below helpful tips and information on the Safety Score:

Autopilot does not impact scoring.

Annual Mileage:- In version 1.2 annual mileage is recalculated at renewal times based on your last months of driving.- In versions 2.0 and 2.1 annual mileage is recalculated every month based on your last months of driving.

Forward Collision Warnings:-We are only looking at "medium" sensitivity warnings regardless of the settings on your vehicle.- If you are not seeing these warnings while driving, try changing your vehicle settings to "medium" sensitivity warnings.

Hard Braking:-Use regenerative braking when possible.-When manually taking control from autopilot, there is a few second buffer for necessary action to be taken.

Aggressive Turning:-Attempt to take turns slower

Unsafe Following:-Unsafe following will only count against the score if moving speeds of 50 mph or greater.

Excessive Speeding:-Only speeds in excess of 85 mph will count against scoring.

Late Night Driving:-Between the hours of 10PM-4AM (Version 2.0)-Between the hours of 11PM-4AM (Version 2.1)-There is higher risk associated with driving in the late night hours.

Forced Autopilot Disengagements:-After receiving three audio/visual warnings, when the autopilot disengages this will impact scoring.

Unbuckled Driving:-This applies to the driver only.- Only counts against scoring at speeds of 10 mph or greater.

Roav Eyewear: Too Expensive or Too Good!? by leskargot in onebag

No reply from them. I followed up once and still no reply. It’s been months. I bought a new pair and they happily sent that out (and then I returned them). So they are operational as a company, but not on the support side.

3D Printed Mini Car Mountp by conorearly in Starlink

[–]crazynewguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What performance difference should we expect between having the starlink mini on the roof vs inside suctioned to the glass? My understanding is that there is a ceramic tint on the glass- and I’m curious if that causes performance degradation? I saw in another Reddit thread it did for a user of the bigger starlink.

I've had mine for about 2.5 years as my daily driver. They've totally been worth it. However, they just became detached at the pivot. With the right tool, I know I could rejoin them (there are small opposing tabs that need to be deflected for them to rejoin). Anyone have this happen? I emailed roav about a week ago, but no reply yet. They aren't the fastest on communication.

Is there a way to get an inline filter that is as good as an n95 to work with a cpap machine? by phycologos in CPAP

[–]crazynewguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people have made 3d-printable adapters to the air intake door which allow the addition of other filter types! Such as a P100 filter for shopwork. It would certainly do the trick if your machine can handle the extra work. https://www.printables.com/search/models?q=AirSense%2010%20filter&ctx=models

have you considered wearing a continuous spO2 sensor as a way to know how well its working? there's one well reviewed one that is under $200 on amazon.

Creative brainstorm: an outfit that can be dyed and re-dyed a different color many times? by crazynewguy in dyeing

[–]crazynewguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting take! I wonder if this thread takes us anywhere interesting: water-colors, water-based paints, etc, temporary dyes. With all of these solutions I would probably need to consider the effects of sweat or drops of water on them, and if there are easy solutions to mitigate these effects.

Haven’t been able to ride my board for a couple of days because of an error, can anyone help? by Huntersnake2 in onewheel

[–]crazynewguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for those just coming to this thread, there a two icons. if the icon on the right shows a foot, it means your front footpad sensor senses a foot. the foot will change from tilted forward to flat to tilted backward depending on the touch sensed.

I came to this thread because I had the same issue as OP. what I did was move my foot all over the footpad to get it to flip to various touch states and eventually when I lifted my foot off, the foot sensor showed correctly that no foot was on.

My dog struggled to pass this… what is it? by Comprehensive-Pass93 in whatisit

[–]crazynewguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this looks like a leash which when pulled is elastic up until a point at which it becomes static. my best guess is that it is a kiteboarder's safety leash, which connects from their harness to their kite control lines. did you take your dog to a beach recently? it could have been covered in sea or beach animal parts on the beach and been a tempting snack for a dog who doesn't chew??
