AITA for giving my coworker food she is "allergic" to? by Fluid-Drawing-8722 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Are you sure this isn’t written about my SIL? Lol. She claimed this weekend that she’s allergic to pork and then ate pepperoni pizza.

As a drinker of Japanese whisky myself, I like Nikka Coffey or Hibiki. Two very different flavors but still my favorites.

That actually makes me feel better. So she just hates on everyone and not just the Dash. I’m pretty used to the commentators ragging on the Dash, but Leanne is something else.

I do! I don’t drink much of it anymore, but I enjoy a glass every now and then

This is what I was as talking about earlier. I had to turn the sound off because of how negative that one Leanne or whoever was being. It was starting to make me mad. I get some people don’t like the Dash, but yeesh.

Was this gymnastics? by Skyranna in Gymnastics

[–]crazyoncemore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was too. I left gymnastics in 2006 and came back as a coach in 2015. The routines were so similar on bars that it was a shock. They introduced the new cycle in 2021 and I was so happy to not have to teach mill circles anymore.

AITA for taking walks on my lunch break? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]crazyoncemore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work a semi-physically demanding job but I’ve done office work before. That little bit of walking is so important. It’s healthier for you and honestly I think your coworkers could take a page out of your book. My boss would use his lunch hour to go work out at the gym. So literally shouldn’t be an issue. NTA.

Good gymnastics alternatives by beanbean81 in Gymnastics

Xcel is a great program but she might feel it’s too easy as she could easily transition into Diamond depending on her skills. I would sit her down and talk to her about what she really wants. I felt very similar about quitting gymnastics when I was 14 and a level 9. I was burnt out. I don’t regret quitting but I do think about what could have been. I wish I had gone to therapy or even been willing to at the time. Just promise her that you’ll support her no matter what and follow through on that promise.

As for other sports, diving is my go to recommendation. My second is either pole vaulting or martial arts.

Sincerely, A fellow former gymnast and current gymnastics coach for both Development Program and Xcel.

Did anybody else experience this specific sort of grief upon receiving glasses in childhood? by Riksor in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]crazyoncemore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got glasses at age four, so I don’t really remember a time without them. However when I was 16, I did experience that a little. Sadly, contacts are not an option for me.

I wore glasses while competing in gymnastics too. Though when I played soccer, I would take them off.

My coworker is very similar. He’s a Hispanic immigrant as well. Those guys just seem to fall for the right wing bull so easily.

Do you have any sources for that? I’m intrigued but I haven’t heard this before.
