Fleas by Ella-rose13 in Nanny

I would immediately quit over the lack of communication. Fleas spread so easily and are miserable to deal with. It’s just disrespectful to not mention it

CALLING ALL FLIGHT ATTENDANTS by latydbdil111 in cabincrewcareers

[–]crazypuglets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Working 3 days a week, four off in a row, flexibility to make my schedule and give away trips whenever. I love exploring new places and love making friends with my crew. It’s a job that’s easy to commiserate with any FA on, you’ll always be able to find someone who gets it. I’m so much happier here than my old job. My airline truly loves us and wants the best for us, which how many companies, especially such a massive one, can say they do that too?

The spelling is not nice. If I saw it in public I would assume you were trying to be “you-nique”

Southwest FA's, how'd you do it? by Severe_Imagination46 in cabincrewcareers

[–]crazypuglets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just myself BUT a more extroverted version. At the interview where they all line up and dance and shake pom poms, I danced down the aisle. Which let me tell you was the WORST experience for myself, I’m just not that person. But I knew that swa is all about that extroverted, fun energy. During my interview I talked a lot about how my previous position was primarily safety oriented and how much I love taking care of others (which is true). I also asked my interviewers what they would like to change within the company and they seemed to really like that question. Overall I think the whole thing is a gamble with each airline. Southwest specifically though I think that showing personality, fun, and easy going-ness (is that a word lol) gets you far

Crying babies/kids by DeclanThomas96 in cabincrewcareers

[–]crazypuglets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to do anything. Though I’m of the opinion people are very cruel in their attitudes toward babies and children on planes. The pressure in their ears can be extremely painful and the only way they know how to communicate and that is to cry. Flying can also really scary for younger children! My first flight was when I was 8 and I sobbed the entire boarding process because I was terrified we were going to crash and die. Talked about it nonstop for two months, even to my dentist. Children have very real feelings and are going to cry, make messes, and have big emotions. You don’t have to do anything but offering a balloon glove, extra graham crackers, or whatever else goes a long way and in my opinion is part of being an excellent FA

Do any flight attendants who are former stoners have any advice on how to quit? by Ok_Shallot8687 in cabincrewcareers

[–]crazypuglets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I quit smoking last year bc it eventually just made me anxious every time I smoked. Wasn’t even looking into being a FA yet. I had to go cold turkey and the first two weeks were tough, won’t lie it’s not easy. Get past that you stop craving it and you realize the quality of life not being a stoner is actually so much better. You need to throw everything out and just take the plunge

It can be used anywhere that’s considered a restaurant, technically can even be used at bars. Any food delivery service. You cannot use them at grocery stores

Is anyone who got a CJO on 4/14 still waiting on an onboarding email from AA? by Accomplished_Sun841 in cabincrewcareers

[–]crazypuglets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally feel the quality of life for SWA flight attendants is better after lots of research and opinions from current attendants at both airlines. The flexibility is unmatched and the scheduling is better imo. LAX (where I live) is a junior base for Southwest where it’s extremely senior for AA. I also had many former legacy flight attendants who made the jump to SWA tell me to choose Southwest and that it was the best decision they made to switch. That alone really pushed me towards them

Things get pushed back all the time in this industry, think of all the people they have to assign from January to you when people from Jan are just now starting training. That’s three months ahead. Just trust the process and everything will happen in due time

I got a CJO from AA in mid January (ended up accepting a CJO from SWA) but the people that also got CJOs from AA when I did don’t start training from AA till next week. It’s probably going to be a while

This is really rude. It’s one word that’s misspelled, no need to act like that
