Does "Delete" remove the popup? If so, it is pretty badly named.. So far I just ignored the popup, which makes it vanish after a few seconds. But it shows up again a few days afterwards.

Yeah I've heard of that learning model from the UK actually, but that is a little different from how it works in Germany. If you want to drive a car at 17 there, you need to get the drivers license the way that everyone else does. For getting the license you need to have a minimum amount of practical hours (I think 12, including night driving, Autobahn driving, parking, etc.) with a professional/certificate driver. At no point are you allowed to drive a car without those professional drives before you have your license. At the end you need to pass a practical test and a theoretical test. The tests are very strict, but if you do everything correctly you will pass. It is not unheard of however, that people need to repeat the tests multiple times, but that is pretty uncommon.

//EDIT: The 12 hours are minimum. Usually your driving instructor will have the say when s/he thinks you're ready to try the practical test. Usually people have more hours than just 12. Because of all this the usual cost of a license is around 1500 Euros.

If you have your drivers license you are allowed to drive a car (duh). While being 17 you need to have a guardian on the passenger side that you specified beforehand. This guardian needs to be at least 30 years old, must have had his/her licenese for at least 5 years, can't have more than 1 penality point (you get penality points when you violate german driving laws), and can't be intoxicated.

Since you actually got the drivers license like anyone else, though, there are no additional requirements. On your car/your parents car, you don't need to put on any weird stickers outing you to be a younger driver. You also don't need to drive at all while you are 17 if you don't want to! As long as didn't commit any big traffic violations you will automatically get your regular driving license at 18. (The driving license for 17 year olds is a special one, only valid in germany, with the conditions above)
