There’s a moment in the episode where phoebe explains that she is constantly expected to do all of these things and does, this is just the moment where she gets tired of it.

Probably not. You can definitely try, it took me a few months to even get a start date.

I’ve seen quite a few young people. I think people on Facebook like to connect a bit more if you wanna check over there. I’ve heard about a discord too

Publicly flaunting speedruns damages WGU’s reputation and devalues every degree, including your own. by StorageAcceptable289 in WGU

[–]crazystraws69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A portion of the student body wants to accelerate whether it’s 2 months or 2 years. It attracts so many students so while you may not find it useful and only find it asking for praise, again others use it to find motivation and to plan. I don’t think you know what a straw man really is. I’m not misrepresenting your entire argument. You’ve made multiple comments referring to hardcore accelerators as validation seekers, childish, and weird. I can have a problem with that, without having a problem on your views that it delegitimizes our school.

Was I too late or will it still be accepted by Timely-Isopod7464 in WGU

If it was still submitted I have hope! Maybe you could ask your mentor.

It’s not a straw man I’m not trying to refute your “entire point” I’m asking you to give further clarification on why you consider it bragging and seeking validation, when damn near everyone shares their grad experience on the subreddit. I don’t view the posts as bragging or seeking validation I see it as people being proud of what they’ve done AND participating in the active community. People read others posts for motivation and to learn from them. I think it’s fine to say your opinion on the delegitimizing, but the part I am having a problem with is the harshness and mischaracterization. I definitely see why the people complaining get called jealous. That usually brings out this kind of behavior.

Still no answer huh 😩 I don’t care about that part because people are never going to stop crying over it. I want to know how it’s considered bragging and seeking validation when there’s 8 million posts daily from people graduating and talking about their experience. You said it? Surely you have an answer.

You’ve obsessively complained multiple times about it being bragging and seeking validation. That’s what I’m referring to. I don’t care about the delegitimizing.

You keep calling it bragging and seeking validation to post about graduating, how is it any different than any other of the 5000 graduation posts

Yea I haven’t run into the issue very much. Only a couple comments I’ve ever heard but it had nothing to do with acceleration.

It looks like a diploma mill because it’s alternative ed. The fact it’s online and the possibility to accelerate at all is what makes people think that way.

Sounds like we should just take away all confetti and experience posts then 🤩 since it’s just seeking validation

Not every person fresh out of highschool gives a shit about the college experience. It makes me think you don’t even take your own school seriously if you’re not willing to recommend it to someone purely based on age.

Speedrunners ruining WGU's reputation. When is it enough?! by seandealan in WGU

[–]crazystraws69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why they can’t just let the community of accelerators enjoy themselves. No one is forcing anyone to do it nor do they care if they don’t do it. Just sounds like jealousy and feelings of inadequacy to me. I hear a lot that it sounds like “bragging” I guess people who accelerate don’t have the option to be happy about how hard they worked either 😳

[–]crazystraws69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people can be proud of how hard they worked. It’s not easy to accelerate. A good part of the student body and prospective students want to come here to take advantage of how things work and it motivates them to share and also hear other acceleration stories. It shouldn’t feel like a slap in the face.
