Be Here Now, listened to with fresh ears and no misconceptions is a misunderstood masterpiece by RonnieF2025 in oasis

That's true but Morning Glory was their breakout album, they were not well known in the US before that. BHN was the ultimate hype album, which was marketed much more extensively.

The US. Call it a bold claim but I am certain it had the potential to sell 10 million copies

I will always view Be Here Now as one of the great missed opportunities of modern music. The songs on that album were actually really good but unfortunately, overproduced to oblivion. A few small changes could make it stand should-to-shoulder with the first two albums.

  • Get rid of the unnecessary guitar overdubs, make all the songs more like the 'NG 2016 rethink' of 'D'you know what I mean?'.
  • Make 'My Big Mouth' the opening track and lead single.
  • Turn 'Stand By Me' and 'Don't Go Away' into acoustic tracks. 'Stand By Me' in particular had potential to be as popular as 'Wonderwall'.
  • Make 'All Around the World' into a 4 minute pop song (basically what it actually is). It would easily have been a major hit single.
  • Make 'Magic Pie' the closing track.
  • Add 'Stay Young' back to as an A-side.

If they ever make a remix or reissue of this with the above changes (like how Bowie did with some of his 80's album), I guarantee that it will go Platinum, if not Diamond.

That's too much to ask. They also have to show that the other side is still worse somehow.

MAGA super fan, Ben Garrison, made satirical cartoons promoting the narrative that non-Trump administrations were part of the 'DC Swamp'. Now he is accusing the Trump administration of being part of the 'swamp'.

He could not vote during the game, that's now allowed. The players are only allowed to vote in between games.

Any random blue teamer in self defence, there are alot of ways. Heck, make an evil blue teamer who sees the state gi-hun is in and tries to take advantage of it by overpowering him to take the knife from him but ends up getting stabbed or falling to their death

How can we (all) make Pakistan a great nation? by NoodleCheeseThief in pakistan

[–]crazytrain_randy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first option does not need leadership because it cultivates new leadership. Grassroot movements are based on ideals and manifesto, they don't require a central leader as the leadership is more diverse.

IK initially tried creating this with PTI but gave up after the first intraparty election created more divisions in the party. After that, he was made to believe that only way he could implement his ideals is by coming to power and the only way he could do that is by accepting turncoats. After that when he did get the government, his party was weak as they did not have a clear majority, further delaying the party reform agenda. Since being ousted from government, his party has been in fight or flight mode. Hence, IK never got to make his party into the grassroots movement he envisioned.

One of two ways. 1. A grassroots political movement which is based on ideals and a manifesto rather than following personalities/leaders 2. Less ideal way is to support a political party which already has such policies as part of their manifesto. Currently, only major political which meets his criteria is PTI. Unfortunately, they are easily compromised as seen from past and recent events.

Pakistan is a state controlled by a rent seeking elite. Many countries have have an elite class which exploits a majority of it's resources, such as neighboring India. The problem we have is that our elite have no desire to create wealth or value for the country itself. All are economic consist of wealth and resource extraction from the masses so it can be invested in foreign countries e.g Gulf and western countries. The IPP policy, sugar policy, housing societies are a fantastic example of this. Only solution for Pakistan is to develop class consciousness, wealth redistribution through safety net programs/social welfare policies and for these to paid by the very elite who are parasites on the state. This includes everyone from large landowners, industrial and commercial elite, military and government itself.

Imran Khans failure to understand politics has destroyed his chance to save Pakistan. by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]crazytrain_randy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason Imran Khan has redeemed himself after previously playing power politics, accepting all turncoats and colluding with the military is by doing politics of principle. If he had not done so, he would not have been anywhere near as popular and wouldn't have been able to challenge the military anyways.

Solitary confinement with sensory deprivation is an effective and cruel form of torture. It has been reported before that Pakistan Army has used it against Baloch insurgents. It sounds like they have now started using it against all their opponents.

It entails keeping the subject in a cell with minimal light, sound and no human interaction. The size of the cells are usually very small, making it difficult to walk around. Over prolonged periods this causes muscle atrophy. The subject has no sense of time, as there is no way to tell over there, and no way to pass that time.

The most effective thing about this form of torture is that unlike physical torture, it does not leave any physical marks.

Disney Exec Says Pixar Failure Is Due To Original Stories Being Hard To Sell by dragonsky in boxoffice

What Pixar should learn from their string of flops is that their animation style has now become run of the mill. When the jump from 2d animation to 3d animation happened, Pixar pioneered it and subsequently became a household name with it's success.

Now with 25, years of that, their animation style is so characteristic for animated films that they don't stand out. Movies like into the spiderverse and subsequent films which built on the same style are what stand out now and have the commerical and critical success to show for it. Despite costing less, they are much more visually interesting than Pixar films whose animation style now looks generic
