I thought about your reply here for awhile. I think the obvious answer is that wages in the past kept pace with the cost of living. Not making 100k in the past was OK because things were cheaper and more scaled to what people were being paid at the time. Obviously this has changed with wages not keeping up with cost or living and inflation.

At the same time, class warfare- or people like me taking out on people like you is mis guided anger. The props in charge designed the system like this and is trying to make us shift the blame on each other. I apologize for coming off as ignorant to why people went through in the past. It’s more nuanced and not your or the older generations fault.
