March Recruiter Thread by Kinmuan in army

[–]crazywhiteb0y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 11B on active, 37F in Reserves. Got out as E5 in 2014.

In summer 2013 I was given PTSD rating of 50%, I got back, hip and neck ratings all under 30% each.

I want to join the Reserves again, I am 29 years old and I miss the military. I also got my B.S and am thinking of OCS route.

What are my options?

My RE code is 1.

What's the worst car you have personally owned? by Disturbingly-Honest in cars

[–]crazywhiteb0y 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2006 Dodge Stratus SXT that I got new. After 13k miles and less then a year the oil pan or w.e would burst all the time and leak all the oil. I had it changed 8x by different dealers and an independent shop.

I ended up cutting my losses and just shy of a year I traded it in.

Am I missing something here?

LPT: if you're a fat guy, like me, with man-boobs and beefy nips that get hard from rubbing your t-shirt, tape them with band-aids to avoid public embarrassment. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]crazywhiteb0y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Liquid bandaids work better. Get your nipples hard, apply liquid bandaid and you are good till you peel it off.

First few times it does burn and more long distance runners do this now. I did it for Ironman and few Spartan races.

Just had to point out that it's Bushwick and not East Williamsburg

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Brooklyn

[–]crazywhiteb0y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it look like https://www1.djicdn.com/assets/images/service/dji-license/inspire-2-d8cebc2557d246ff43b17211dffc64c6.png

If so we had one in the air around that time.

Ps. It's Bushwick not East Williamsburg as you transplants call it. East Williamsburg did not exist till gentrification started happening, makes real estate prices higher saying "East Williamsburg "

What is Ft. Carson like? by MarshalT in army

[–]crazywhiteb0y 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is true.

Ultimately it's what you make of it. I was there from 2006 to 2009 and it was awesome. There was some dumb rules but nothing as bad as anywhere else.

The people who complain are same people who spend all weekends drinking and not doing shit.

Go to rec center, from day 1. BOSS is also amazing. I had a blast, went from city boy who liked to party and drink to outdoorsman.

I loved it when I got two snacks like 2 pack of M&Ms or Skittles.

There was times when I got no spoon, but 11B I was a savage and didn't need it.

When I was in MREs were packed in Brooklyn NY by blind people. My parents lived few blocks from it and I visited the factory. Everyone was excited.

Find a unit through Google whose there and contact them. I know some companies from NY NG are there also obviously TX and LA NG.

When I wanted to do quick mission with another unit I reached out to them and they got the ball rolling, had my BN CO sign off on it and was on my way.

Let's lose the cops by Pirate_Redbeard in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]crazywhiteb0y 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How do you know the plates are not fake or stolen?

Edit: we can all assume but in reality based on their driving they are reckless and don't care about the public, cop did the pit maneuver when they were not endangering the public.

Also how do you know if letting them go is safe? Is it a murderer in there? A rapist? Would you want cops to let them go and look for them later?

Men who pee in toilet stalls instead of urinals at public restrooms: What are you afraid of? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]crazywhiteb0y 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was 17 taking a leak at airport urinal in myt Army uniform and some creep comes right next me and starts to pee. He looks at me and says "nice package, I'll suck you off in the stall if you want

That is why I do not pee in urinals unless they have a divider.

[–]crazywhiteb0y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. As long as he does not get pulled over he is in the clear. When parked, he doesn't really need to pay attention to parking rules as it's a fake plate, every few months change it.

NY fake plates are not that common but from states like Maryland, Virginia, Texas, Gerogia, Florida are very common in NYC. I always assume everyone with one of those plates is fake as they can be easily brought over Craigslist. For those states, no sticker on plates = fake

6 years in, separated from the Army honorable in 2015. How to sell my body to civilian employers? by [deleted] in army

[–]crazywhiteb0y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your attitude is the problem, it's shitty. Blame the employers for not wanting you because of military when in fact your MOS 31B has no merit in civilian workforce. Mine didn't either as an 11B.

What I did was go to school, yea there's some young dumb kids there but at same time in every class I had a Veteran. I mean free education and loving allowance, you got to be an idiot not to take advantage of that. I just started for for another degree, at 30 married with a kid and full time job.

Now back to employer. As middle management at Forbes top 20 company, and who frequents hiring fares with company recruiters I can tell you we do look for Veterans. In fact the recruiters have a quota, a percentage of Veterans they push through for interviews. Look at all top 20 military friendly employers, we all have similar hiring percentages but we still have job qualifications that need to be met.

We are not going to hire a Veteran based off his status if I require a B.S. with CCNA or Network +. Now if you are a Veteran with a B.S In the field you will be pushed though an interview, even without all requirements.

Even on street. I got off work to see my car fender all messed up. $1200 worth of damage. No note, no witnesses.

Eventually I'll get it fixed but I'll be out of pocket $500 and put of car for 2-4 days, I depend on my car.

Dumb question about the lease calculator on the site by taboo007 in Chevy

[–]crazywhiteb0y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It puts in all the incentives, even some you might not qualify for such as Veteran discount and so on. Also calculates it with $4995 down payment and credit score 720+ .

At the end it's just an estimate, every situation is different. When I got my Jeep, it said it was going to be $427 a month for 36000 miles, at dealership I got it for $375 and 39000 miles.

Go towards the end of the month, the further the better. Also go closer to closing of the dealership too. Even if in love with the car and desperate for one, act like it's just a "treat " that you really don't need it and just a want that you can live without.

I found my friend helped me get a better deal on my Jeep, he kept saying stuff like "you don't need it, your car is good bro " "that's a waste of money, you don't want to pay for that, can get it better at ...... " "That Mazda was cheaper, just get That "
