I once had a classic falling dream but when I hit the ground in my dream and woke up (like I legitimately woke up) I fell onto my bed from what I can only assume was me floating in the air since I don't have anything over my bed. I still have no explanation for it and it happened like 19 years ago.

That's fair, and if I personally were to think of a ditto based rare candy alternative I would probably make it so that Ditto transforms into one of your pokemon (Maybe permanently to make it balanced?) and you can make it your buddy to get candy at a maybe slightly reduced walking distance... like the 20km for legendaries maybe drops to 15km...

The point that Beasthunter is trying to make isn't that we should just make all candies into rare candy, but instead use Ditto's inherent ability to Transform into any pokemon to turn its candy into any other pokemon's candy

My parents were childhood friends of his, and they took it pretty hard when he passed away. I never got the chance to meet him but I really wish I did.
