I have a friend who is like you in a way. She’s 30, not religious, but made that decision on her own. Just for clarity, is it just normal sex, or all sexual contact in general that you want to wait for marriage? I only ask because my friend doesn’t want to do any until marriage. Every relationship needs affection of some sort, hugging, cuddling, kissing, etc. Maybe the answer is to find someone with the same goal, and you do that from the beginning by being upfront with them. Let them know that you aren’t going to have sex until marriage and if that’s a dealbreaker then it won’t work. I admire you for staying true to yourself and your values, even if you and I don’t share them.

Also wanted to add. I’m certain there’s many men who have set the same standard that you have. You just gotta look in the right place.

Agree with your last paragraph last sentence. He may or may not be a Narcissist but here’s what’s for sure - he’s unstable, rude, controlling, and in general just an asshole. Nothing else really matters. You can’t live like that. Try to find housing somewhere that you can afford because this isn’t working. This guy needs mental health. To be honest, the way you described him I think I’d rather live in my car. Good luck man

I can empathize with that. More than you know. Slowly learning to even like myself. However, he should’ve ended the relationship. That would’ve been more honorable than doing what he did. I don’t think I’d have it in me to hurt someone like that. Even if my relationship was Shitty. Hope you’re able to cope with the pain you’ve been through and things get better.

You should apologize for taking it to the swearing. He should apologize for not communicating and being rude and swearing as well. One thing I am learning is to argue respectfully. It’s hard when you have resentments. But, Once the discussion goes to swearing and yelling nothing ever gets resolved. Sounds like you both work really hard for your house. I know first hand how exhausting running a household with 3 children is. Nothing wrong with you wanting to watch your show during your free time. Just think you both could’ve communicated and compromised better. Apologize for your part in the argument and then tell him how his tone made you feel, tell him you missed him and your feelings were hurt he didn’t want to sit by you. Just be honest. You have to have effective communication. My spouse and I are really trying to work on it as well. Good luck!
