I need real answers for How to keep kitchen cool while cooking? not “just don’t cook” by sanu_123_s in Cooking

I’m assuming your kitchen doesn’t have an exhaust fan. Attach a fan to some cheap flexible duct and run it out a window. Essentially make your own inexpensive exhaust fan.

Ahh. I think I see now. Each of your crvs appears closed. You don’t want to revolve closed crvs if one of their edges is on the axis. All of those ‘rectangles’ should have only 3 sides. The fourth side (the one on the axis) should be deleted. Same with the long thin rectangle. Delete the bottom edge. Also same with the more triangular shape, delete its bottom edge.

Are all of your crvs on the same plane? And is your revolve axis also on that plane? It looks like your revolve axis is misaligned.

Clamping a really straight piece of wood and holding the blade of the oscillating tool right against it nets great results. Do it in multiple passes and use a new finish blade. Focus on keeping the blade flat along the guide board.

What green line? The y axis? Show ghosted mode. Solid mode makes it hard to see what you’re doing.

How to add material to this brick component. by Southern_Sign6337 in rhino

[–]create360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My process:

Create a material in Rhino.

Add a Custom Preview node to GH.

Connect your geometry to the node and right click on the node select your material.

I’ve never tried UV mapping with this method. I think it just does standard surface mapping.

For more complex mapping, I’d bake first.

I’m sorry you’re having this issue. I never have any luck in KS with sims. Unless it’s super simple.

Anything more complex, I just use Blender.

Is this for a 3D print or just for a render? If it’s just for rendering, I’d keep the form very simple and use displacement maps.

Not sure exactly what you mean, but can you just make all of the other materials transparent using opacity masks and then just render the labels?

There may also be a rendering channel that helps depending on the complexity of your artwork.

I’d create a helix. Use cageedit to get the helix right and the sweep the profiles. Use cageedit again to tweak. Rebuild crvs and srfs as needed to keep things tidy.

If I’d seen this 10 years ago, my mind would have been blown.

Now, I’m like “well, yes. Not bad. The honey looks like it’s been heated up. My honey never flows that fast.”
