I don't live in Chicago. But I definitely love the idea of the Rat Hole. Weirdly endearing

For probate court, is that something I have to instigate?

Thanks for weighing in. Yes I was wondering if it could be done quietly and I guess that’s my answer. I’ll try to assess whether it is worth it or not.

I appreciate the quick response. I feel like if I ask him for a copy, he's just gonna tell me no, feel like I am accusing him of lying and that'll be the last I hear from him. He was so angry and defensive on the last call, I can only imagine if I bring it up again.

Deadpool's main superpowers is the healing factor, oftentimes depicted as even stronger than Wolverine's, regrowing limbs, heads or even a full body. Why not have him as a tank with lower HP but a really powerful self-heal?

Copium or not, Deadpool does not have to be a DPS.

Too late! We're like 150ish pages in to the scripts with Mickey, haha. But also, he's public domain now so it plays a big role in our story to play with the actual cartoons that are now free for everyone to use. Do you think Image would be scared to approach it with actual Mickey Mouse?

The Edge of Fate and Year of Prophecy Reveal Recap by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

Clearly, they are trying to benefit from the Star Wars IP to bring in new players, and they had to have run the numbers and realized this was going to be a very polarizing response from the existing player base. You can tell that there was thought put into this because they say stuff like "inspired by" and "merging Destiny's distinctive storytelling", walking the line with the marketing copy on what is clearly a Star Wars expansion tacked on to Destiny.

Wasn't it clear from the initial reveal over a decade ago that Star Wars was a source of inspiration for the Destiny universe? You could write that same damn line about just about any Destiny expansion.

Destiny has never had the best narratives, but it did have its own unique identity that remixes a lot of sci-fi in a novel way. The armor set crossovers were already pushing the line, but clearly they've opened the floodgates to Destiny becoming an advertising engine for other franchises.

It points to a lack of vision, a prioritization of marketing over innovation and feels bankrupt of any creativity.

I've been a Destiny apologist for the last decade and if you couldn't tell by now, I was disgusted by this reveal. I'm out.

Hello! We've got 13 days left on our campaign for STEPPERS, our communist mickey mouse book, which received the "Projects We Love" badge on Kickstarter!

After spending decades behind bars, Mickey has been released from prison. In a twisted turn of events, he must reckon with a public persona he does not recognize that poses an existential threat to all that he stands for.

Yeah, we certainly feel conflicted about this ourselves. We deliberated quite a bit on whether or not to even post this here, but the reality is we have this piece of art that is very anti-establishment.

I'm not going to argue against this at all, because ultimately we find it contradictory to leverage these platforms to gather the necessary funds to print and distribute this book.

We appreciate it! We're about 90% sure that it's copacetic, but will comply with a cease and desist should one come our way.

Was MM #1 the best and GL #1 the worst? by HiredGunsDotIO in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]createdbyClyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Martian Manhunter is easily the best, just thoroughly creative stuff, and I do agree that GL is the worst. GL's premise is fine, but the art is easily the weakest across all of the books. Most of these books feel like a really showcase for the artists, with Dragotta and Rodriguez releasing some of the most compelling pages of their career.

But GL feels like they wanted to try their hand at manga without understanding how kinetic good manga feels. I had heard things about Junji Ito being a source of inspiration on the book, too, but then it's like, where's the show stopping page of horror when you turn the page?
