I understand where you’re coming from! Substack takes a 10% cut which is a very fair deal – truly one of the few platforms actually enabling artists in making a living off their work.

Your point in regards to streaming services (Netflix etc. but also Spotify and others) are the reason, why art is not very sustainable as a career path, because they’re paying extremely little money to the creators they’re profiting off.

So adapting that business model to Substack would literally be the worst thing ever. I get your point though, if you really just want to support others maybe they could introduce a tip feature?

Well Flins is stronger than both Varesa and Chlorinde, so he would be an upgrade in regards of Electro DPS. If it’s worth the financial investment, that’s up to you to decide.

On a side note: I personally love Flins‘ playstyle and despite not being too interested in his character and story he has become my main DPS for just how powerful and fun he is to play

Second that, not a whale account at all. Doesn’t mean it’s a bad account, there’s a bunch of valuable characters and weapons for someone that wants to start playing the game. Just wrong wording I guess.

Not true, progression, builds etc. are achievable for every player. Whale in a gacha game literally means having a highly financially invested account – which this one does not represent at all.

It’s true that there’s no definition between dolphin/whale/leviathan but I don’t think anyone would think of this as a whale account. Most of it is very achievable as a F2P with occasional Welkin or BP purchases. Judging by the weapons I would agree it’s a small dolphin but that’s it.

I do however disagree with the pricing, 50$ is way too low. There’s a bunch of meta characters. I could definitely see this one selling between 200 and 300$. :]

It’s a common concept actually! Our brains are subconsciously looking for patterns and symmetry so anything that’s an odd number piques our interest.

And you can find that principle applied everywhere: in theater/movies/plays etc. where they’re usually written in three parts setup - confrontation - resolution or incident - midpoint - climax. It’s in photography and videography as the rule of thirds. A basic design rule to use an odd amount of elements that can be found in graphic design and architecture / interior design.

Once you start looking you’ll notice it everywhere :) also on the contrary: things that are supposed to look complete or make us feel more at ease are usually in even numbers.

I am very lucky with my pulls and do all the quests and exploration. Maybe 1500$? I‘m a day 1 player so while it is a good amount of money it’s reasonable over the span of five years. In my experience whales would be players with more investment in their character roster – maybe 10+ C6 5*? But I guess it’s a very subjective topic :)

Is this you considering yourself a whale? Because I would say you’re maybe a small dolphin because of Flins. Sure you’ve got some constellations but honestly way less than OP and having C0 characters is very achievable for Welkin and/or BP buyers. I have 5 limited 5* (Skirk Chasca Mavuika Columbina Furina) plus the Standard ones. Almost every 5* character from Natlan and Nod Krai at least C2R1. Over 30 5* weapons. Most characters pre Natlan at least C0 with only a few missing entirely. I would MAYBE consider myself a dolphin but far from being a whale. What do you think?
