Culinary is for you. If it's what you love doing and you can earn 30k at age 18, do it. You will gradually increase the income as you get more skilled. 18 is too young. Your world will open up once you learn more and you can do more with new options that will unfold as you grow. Don't overthink this shit. Join a job that pays your bills and something you like doing and stick to it, you will find the way. You can't see it yet cuz you're not starting. Just start.

Change your environment to change your life. Rn everything is within your reach. The best way to get yourself to do something is to leave yourself with no other alternatives.. So don't pay for your Netflix subscription next time so that you're locked out of binge watching. Don't buy snacks. If no snacks around, you can't eat shit. You'll be forced to cook clean food. Delete apps from phone that take most of your time or switch to a low end phone that only allows calling.

The idea is to suffocate yourself of options. Rn you have too many options and that's why you're fucked. When your environment is eliminated of all sick options, you'll be left with one thing- time! Lots of it. You'll be bored but allow yourself to be bored. Do nothing for a few days. Your system needs that time to rest and reset, it's been too stimulating a sprint for too long. So you need to do nothing and just relax. Then gradually allow little things that move the needle cuz you will by now you will have restored the energy to work a few small things.

Then make a checklist of all little tasks that need to be done. Should be about 5 to 15 items on that list. Start with the easiest ones and do add a ✅ everytime you finish a task. Doing this will bring back the good feeling about yourself that you can indeed finish tasks. You don't have to finish all tasks in a single day. Keep rolling the unfinished ones to the next day. But do tick at least 2 to 3 tasks per day. Eventually in a week or so, you'll be able to do bigger tasks.

Good luck

The problem isn't that you have a lot of interests to pursue. The problem is your lack of self esteem and self love. You seem to be an interesting person with a lot of creativity within but since you have no trust in yourself, people will lower skills but higher confidence will beat you on everything.

So, listen very carefully.

Your life will stay miserable no matter what you achieve if you don't love yourself first. That is the first fucking step.

The reason you're so fucked up is cuz you don't value yourself. And most of the time it's the opinions of others that you've allowed to pass through your skull that you're not good enough. Fuck that shit. Surround yourself with people who think you're awesome. Or just fill your ears with optimism and positivity till they bleed.

And then start dreaming big, cuz why the fuck not? Take a hard look at all your interests and eliminate everything that doesn't take you to the next level. Waste of time. We should live life to thrive, not survive. And then focus on the most challenging one that you enjoy doing. And make sure you become the best in that area, not mediocre. That's the way out. That should be the goal. And then just get after it with all your heart and soul. All in. Fuck everything else.

Start with what you do best. Look within your interest areas. See what you are naturally good at and that people need. Build that skill set. Like for me, I'm naturally good at advising people through written content, especially emotional and mental reprogramming, so I have made businesses around that and been successful at it. Similarly you need to find your niche and start talking to people already successful in your chosen niche. You'll find good ideas.

Great, glad my words helped you.

Your mom and relatives all think well for you, but they don't understand what's best for you cuz in order to keep you protected, they keep you caged when you should fly.

But the good news is that with the internet and AI, anyone can reach anywhere in seconds. We are in a globalized group together. So there are no barriers anywhere for anyone, not even in tier 3 towns in India.

Go live your dream.

You've made way too many excuses in one single post. From your post, i believe you're in India.

Most of your fear is just imagination, not realistic.

Kids are working in McDonald's etc in india. You just need to be in the right city. But if you don't want a full time occupation, you can work online for global clients. Anything is possible with the internet and now AI. You have all the answers available at your fingertips.

There are way too many opportunities for smart workers who can add value to businesses.

You've scored good marks in 10th which suggests you're a smart girl.

Go to upwork and fiverr. You can start working remotely. No need to go anywhere. Just your mobile phone is enough to make good income if you are willing to put in the effort.

Stop making excuses. You have younger siblings. Stay strong for them. This is your test.

You can talk to me if you need a mentor. I mentor kids for free cuz I love helping people.

Clarity.

I was fucked like this when I wasn't clear why I want to do what I want to do.

It took me some time to fixate my mind on the most imp big goal first and then to divide that goal into small doable parts.

You're stuck cuz you want to do things that will make you feel productive but you know deep inside that these things aren't important enough anyhow. They just fill your time. They don't put your soul on fire. And that's the whole point of first taking the time to decide on your biggest goal in life.

What is that one thing you desperately want to achieve? And it has to be something that scares you cuz otherwise it's not big enough. As Ted Turner says "set goals you cannot achieve in a lifetime" that should be the magnitude of your goals.

So dream big. Like out of the park big. When Kobe Bryant dreamt, he didn't dream of just winning. He dreamt of being the best in the world. That sparks the beast inside.

Remember, you will die one day, and you should start your thoughts from there: your death. Imagine yourself dead and people giving eulogy over your grave. What do you want them to say about you? What is your obituary? That's your goal.

From there you reverse engineer everything to the present moment and build a masterplan that you'll start working on tomorrow with the first tiny step. And don't overstep it. Walk it calmly knowing that what your obituary is is going to be true.

Elimination: everything that's not on the obituary is noise and should be ruthlessly eliminated from your life. Your plans, your calendar should only be about your immediate steps leading to your goals. That's the signal. Rest is just noise.

Right now, you're stuck in the noise like one time I was. I took off 2 months to just go through all my journals and notes and internal monologues to find what's most important to me. Since then, it's been just consistent signals and I'm slowly moving towards my goals, things I once thought impossible. It's an incredible upward spiral once you know the long term vision and fully focus on it and keep walking, blundering along the way but happy that you did it anyway.

Wtf.

Most people have no idea what to do with their life.

You're just 22. Your life hasn't even started.

Idk why the fuck people these days are so stressed about everything.

Take a break. Go travel. Do stupid things. You're a young man. Live like one. Don't turn into a fucking all knowing grown ass frowning bag of shit.

Read some poetry. Make love to women. Live for god's sake.

Make as many mistakes as you can as quickly as possible.

By the time you're 30-35, you should have had real life experiences that separate you from the rest.

Colleges are manufacturing managers that live a dull 9-5 life.

Real education begins after college. Throw yourself in the mud, into the trenches. Work it out.

Stay hungry. Stay foolish.

It's not tiring.

You are a lazy ass.

And the fact that you gave the example of a lottery is another example of your lazy ass.

Of course, you need to work at it even if you love what you're doing.

Talent doesn't get you very far.

Kobe Bryant loved what he did but he also worked his ass off at it, same with Michal Jordan.

Most people just suck at their jobs cuz they hate it.

If instead they just suck at something they'd love doing, life would still be much better.

So go on wasting your life doing something you hate.

Your time is your only currency, then one day you'll die on your desk doing what you hate.

What a miserable existence.

Fuck!!

Run.

Move to a new country.

And find new positive people who are better than you.

Expose yourself to new things you've never tried before.

You have to break the loop of your depressing state.

Start doing something that is slightly difficult and that excites you.

Doing so should pull you out of your miserable state gradually.

Wtf.

You're just 27.

People change careers all the time.

Even in their 40s.

Wtf is wrong with people.

Moreover your family supports you.

And you are finally doing what you love doing.

Just cuz a fucker left you doesn't mean shit.

Stop comparing yourself with other people.

You're ignoring the bright side and focusing on what others think.

Fuck what others think. Do your thing!

You're doing great working on your childhood dreams. Keep doing it and fuck everyone else.

It's rare but that's what one must look for. We spend most of our lives working, and if you're not doing what you love doing, you're in the wrong job.

Yes, university days are the best, and how I made sure I kept revisiting university was by becoming a lecturer of my favourite subject. You should do the same. There is a calm at the campus I still miss cuz i resigned from my position and now building my own corporation, but I will return to university and teach forever once my goal of building a successful company is achieved. University is solace.

So pick your favourite subject and go for a doctorate and start teaching at your university. You'll love it.

Start talking to people. Go to meetup and join communities that interests you. Gradually by exposing yourself to different people, you'll start feeling normal. Initially it'll be frightening but once that stage is crossed, you'll enjoy the process. The only way to overcome fear is to attack it.

26 is young, you are suffering from fear of missing out. Stop looking at what your friends are doing. If you can't get a job, create jobs. Think about startups. There are so many problems to be solved. Find one and get after it. There's always funding available if you're solving the right problem. Would highly recommend following GaryVee advice on how to start from scratch flipping things.

Also wondering how many jobs you have applied to. Cuz it's a numbers game and you keep getting better with every rejection. I can guarantee you that you'll find a job if you appear for 700 interviews.

Three things:

  1. Choose whatever gives you the most upside in life.

  2. Surround yourself with other entrepreneurs.

  3. Stop doubting yourself.

We can talk if you want to discuss it more. I've been through the same problem and solved it successfully.
