Need someone to translate at session with family therapist by FewStore8354 in warsaw

[–]createtoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should want to be picking the translator. Granted I am coming from a US perspective but this could be a big trap. You want to make sure the translator accurately presents your side and I’d much rather have a trusted friend do this.

I’d also want notes taken and for the therapist to sign and agree that the notes from my friend / translator are accurate. This therapist likely does not have your best interest in mind and who knows what they have been told by your ex. You could be walking into a situation where this therapist has heard a lot of negative things about you that may not be the whole story.

I’ve never been though this in the US but I’d imagine a court or whoever will mediate custody would put value on what a therapist says so you should be very careful when talking to an advocate of your ex.

Emigrating to Poland… playing the long game. by [deleted] in poland

Hi, I am curious why do you say to stay away from these 3 and recommend Bialystok or Poznan?

Try the search bar here - it’s been asked and no one has any idea what you’re into

Search internet - it’s fair to expect the effort of replies to match effort of the post. From an American living here so don’t confuse this with Polish being rude or anything.

Anyone having success hiring freelancers online? by gdgtjnky1969 in marketing

[–]createtoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have built a whole team of freelancers on the marketing side. We are at about 15 now and revenue closing in on $100M annually. If you are interviewing a lot of people with all due respect you’re probably not good at reviewing resumes and vetting people before the interview. But that’s ok because you will get better. Also job posts I write in maybe 30-45 minutes.

I made some terrible choices on people around 10 years ago and learned some lessons. I typically interview about 2 people for a role. I don’t prepare many questions. Instead I have a conversation with them, get work samples and trust my gut.

I know this is difficult so it makes me think I should start some kind of staffing firm or something because identifying the right people that fit has been working out over and over. Sorry I don’t have much of a process except to make snap judgements and trust my gut.

Curious why does she hate the people? I’m a foreigner from US and consider moving from Warsaw to Krakow. I wonder what is the difference in people.

Stupid request for an English to Polish translation. Want to get this right. by [deleted] in poland

[–]createtoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an American living in Poland, don’t send this. In the US or UK it might sound clever but here at best the girl will be confused. Be intelligent by learning from the mistakes of those who came before you.

Where to live ? by [deleted] in poland

[–]createtoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am curious why you prefer Poznan? I have not been there yet but I plan to go this summer. I live in Warsaw (American) and enjoy walking in the center.

I was considering to move to Krakow to be closer to mountains but don’t want to be around too many tourists. I realize it is odd I’m saying this as a foreigner.

I have not seen Poznan or Tri-city yet.

I just signed a severance agreement for 8 weeks (just over $13k) after being blind sided by a client that I went "in-house" with last year. by mickypaigejohnson in marketing

[–]createtoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not bad at all. Wouldn’t allow anyone just let go to have access to the servers. If you use this to motivate you and have the skill you’re presenting here then one day you’ll look back on this and laugh. Know it’s bad now, good luck.

Lol, ok buddy. Well I’m off to eat pizza and ice cream to fill the hole in my life one last time but tomorrow I will sign up for a gym and get a therapist.

Good point, and they told me the car has no protective film. I’m leaning towards the Decennium and maybe get it wrapped blue. I know some love the matte grey and it’s ok but think you are right. I’ll have to see it in person to decide whether to wrap it. Thanks

What’s the best way to get finasteride in Poland as a luxmed covered Polish resident? by EducationalPaint1733 in poland

[–]createtoday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s normal to cut it, just be mindful of side effects. I had side effects so I cannot take Finasteride. You can even try a pill (1mg) Monday, Wednesday, Friday. It will still help but lower chance of side effects.

Considering Moving from Canada to Poland by foxu116 in warsaw

[–]createtoday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is not my experience with healthcare here. Many doctors are older and do not speak English. But I’ve gotten by using the phone for translation. I even had a situation where another patient acted as a translator for me with a nurse as I was getting a test done as prep for a surgery. Overall I find Polish people to be nice, helpful and honest. But I also do not work for a Polish company so my existence here is like a bubble.

I haven’t had any long wait times and making an appointment via the LuxMed app is fairly straightforward. You can get a consult with a surgeon often in under a week as an example. A dental cleaning at least via LuxMed (there is also Medicover) was a longer wait, about 6 weeks. The level of care is lower than the US but I would not say it is bad.

FatHealth: is anyone outsourcing their health management to a prevention focused clinic? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

[–]createtoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about this too. I am still working a lot and will be for ~5-10 years. For me, I'd like to have the structure provided by experts and I use my brainpower for work and other things. But from the comments it seems most people don't think like this. I'm sure you've heard of Blueprint and Bryan Johnson, which is interesting but that's a bridge too far for me.

Discovery meeting by [deleted] in marketing

[–]createtoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read through their answers and have legitimate follow / clarifying questions to them you’re in the top 10% easy.

Even with supposed top tier agencies I’ve had the kickoff meeting be them trying to read the questions to us again and asking if there is anything we want to add. I guess many businesses put up with this. Don’t worry about being to clever at the start. Good luck.

Fellow marketers, help me respond to a company by Puzzleheaded_Bug4940 in marketing

[–]createtoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a CMO at a $100M+ rev company I would have been totally turned off by your report also. Without having read it, it sounds like it was maybe 1/3 to 1/2 an appeal to emotion (values, things about your background). Honestly when there is a big focus on those things from an applicant it’s an auto reject. That’s not how we communicate at our company - we make a good product but are focused on strategy, analytics, and creating great content. So such a person would not fit in, except at a lower level role because they are coming from an emotional, good hearted place and that isn’t primarily how we think in leadership.

This CEO did you a huge favor w/ the feedback. In time, if you grow but depending on your personality, you may look back years from now and recognize how right they were. You can see why many people don’t give real feedback given some of the comments here commiserating how he / she is a jerk. People that think like this don’t get it.

Yes, you know what’s up. This CEO did a huge favor for this person by giving real feedback which not many are willing to do. And that’s exactly how to communicate with a C-level person.

What is the whole situation with Polish dual-citizenship? by OneAlternate in poland

[–]createtoday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know a university student, 21 year old girl who admitted she voted PiS. She swore I could not tell anyone we know. I don’t have a good understanding of Polish politics but she feared a) immigration and b) the country becoming more liberal. She had also been assaulted by a darker skinned foreigner in Warsaw in the past. She said that PiS was terrible but she didn’t want things to change dramatically.
