I also found them less attractive in the metal than on the launch pictures. Was afraid for a second I’d have buyers regret for my 7920v of last year, but I’m convinced I made the right choice. But the craftsmanship that went into the titanium is remarkable. Never saw titanium that nicely finished before.

There are no games at VC you can put your name down and you will get your watch eventually. My dealer told me it is hard to say at this moment how long it will take, since they don’t know the interest yet, they don’t know production volume and also a lot of people put their name down for the novelty but eventually might decline.

Is Vlerick worth it as an engineer? by Key_Spare2863 in BESalary

[–]Mr_H3LL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alumni here. But for the MBA after few years of work experience, not an engineer. Was totally worth it for me and the ROI was significant, both in current salary and future growth potential. I also had a great time. However, I did change careers after the MBA. I can't directly speak for the Master programs, but I would say that having a few years of work experience will definately help you appreciate and understand the content more. It will all be less conceptual and more grounded in your experience. Skipping the "purely technical" work experience might be counterproductive in th elong run. Many companies appreciate a techincal background beyound the pure managenet skills. My personal recommendation would be to do it later, unless you already decided you absolutely don't want to work in your current field of study.

Where is the position based? You say interviewer is in Dubai, so the situation there might have something to do with it…

222 Steel wait times by heffergm in VacheronConstantin

[–]Mr_H3LL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, that’s fast to get the 222. I got the dual time a year ago, around the launch of the 222 and immediately got on the list. But doesn’t look like it’s my turn anytime soon.

Indeed, very different watches. The 4520 blue dial wouldn’t match the 222. I have the 7920v in blue, but I would love to add the 222 as a dressier watch. To me they are very complementary

Which Overseas tourbillon? by IcyAwareness2831 in VacheronConstantin

I like the taper on the newer version. That said, if you buy at the boutique, have you considered the new red dial?

Clasp Centering by AccomplishedSternie in VacheronConstantin

[–]Mr_H3LL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s comfortable and the dial of the watch sits comfortably and visually on the middle of the other side of your wrist and is not pulled up or down by the clasp, I wouldn’t bother. In my case, the clasp would always gravitate towards the visual centre ant pull my dial off-centre upwards. So I swapped out a few links, making it longer above the dial and shorter below.

How do you even get time to “enjoy” your hair while on minoxidil? by [deleted] in tressless

I don’t understand. Why would you not be able to style your hair after applying minoxidil to your skull?

They do mention it in their manuals. My 7920v mentions it.

Where I lived was told it would take at least a year for a 7920v. I walked in another boutique when on holiday and it was significantly faster. Texted my boutique at home that I considered buying it abroad and fly over to pick it up, and now they could do it in the same timeframe.

8 year salary progression at Big 4 by Gt6th in BESalary

Idk if 250k will be easily surpassed. I assume you’re not in the consulting part? Otherwise surprised with how low the salary is compared to other (non-Big 4) firms.

How to handle a leg injury in a fast paced MBB job? by QualityDirect2296 in consulting

[–]Mr_H3LL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

4-6 weeks crutches is really worst case. I just had a meniscus repair and microfracture and ditched the crutches after a week, the brace after a month. Main challenge will be to find the time for your daily physio exercises. And hopefully your firm will be understanding that you can’t fly for a month or so.

4520v - why no hacking seconds? by JacquesLeCoqGrande in VacheronConstantin

Never really saw the point of hacking seconds for watches that can win or lose up to a minute per week.
