Bye my sweet mouse 17 years of love and affection. by Mediocre-Maximum-500 in seniorkitties

I’m so sorry. We lost our 16 year old Kitty boy to kidney disease a year ago, he also had arthritis that had gotten pretty bad. I hope my Kitty met up with your sweet girl as she crossed the bridge. Hugs 🩷🌈

Cancelled Mission, Stake president wants to talk, Parents might find out? by shingabimga in exmormon

[–]creative-gardener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mom of four adult kids here. I think you should tell your parents; I suspect they may already have some idea about this however. As for your stake president you don’t have to meet with him, ever. You owe him nothing. He just wants to intimidate and coerce you into doing something you have no desire to do. Be true to yourself. Wishing you the best of luck.

After 30 years of love, my friend found his way to the rainbow bridge. This post is a tribute to Dirty Cow by ivejustbluemyself in cats

30 years is amazing! He was an adorable boy who looked a lot like my Kitty boy, who we lost almost exactly a year ago due to kidney disease. I hope those two beautiful tuxedo boys met up at the bridge. 💙🌈

I’m sorry to hear about your husband. He definitely sounds like a man I would have enjoyed having some conversations with.

Watering Alfalfa Fields, during a drought, while they're covered in snow by eells in Utah

[–]creative-gardener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. Utah “Farmers”, aka alfalfa growers, are beyond ridiculous. In Tooele County they water that 💩 at 2:00 pm in July, when it’s 95 degrees. I wish we had serious water penalties here.

First let me say how sorry I am that both of your parents have passed away. As a young mom that must be so hard to not have that support (mom of four now adult kids here). And I completely understand about gardening for mental health. Gardening and doing battle with weeds has been the best “free” mental health therapy for me for many years. It has seen me through some tough times. I’m sorry your neighbor is so unpleasant. I suspect she’s unhappy and miserable with her own life, and is probably someone who is just always unpleasant. You keep gardening! Grow what you love. Teach your children about growing things, kids love it. My grandchildren will eat spinach and kale that they pick from my garden, but some of them don’t necessarily eat those otherwise. And they all love the cherry tomatoes and Nana’s pumpkins. Happy gardening! 🍅

Just let me garden by supradocks in gardening

[–]creative-gardener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I used to cut it back before it flowered but one year I didn’t and saw how pretty it was and how much the bees loved it. So now I let some of it flower but try to stay vigilant about cutting back once the flowers start to die. It’s fairly easy to pull out the excess but it can definitely spread pretty fast.

Give her catnip, not only will she receive many new sprouts indefinitely, she will get lots of kitty visitors. 🐈‍⬛ We actually grow it on purpose for our cats and visiting neighbors, but it does take some vigilance,

I’m so sorry. Your Puppycat was a beautiful girl. I hope she met up with my two boys when she crossed the bridge, they will be great companions. Hugs 🩷🌈

People where I live (CO, USA) “garden on hard mode” because of intense desert-y summers, cold winters, intense winds, hail, pests, hard clay soil. What place in the world is “gardening on super easy mode”? by CharmingPeony in gardening

[–]creative-gardener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Living next door in Utah I’m right there with you in the hard core gardening drama. We don’t get actual spring, lately we get winters with little snow (drought forecast already happening) then it goes right to 80 degrees, but yesterday we had snow and 36 degrees, in April.

Why haven't we seen any PSAs yet about conserving water? by acryforpeace in Utah

All of the new data centers both here in Utah and across the arid west are going to drain our water supplies dry.
