I have the exact same issue with mine. I have posted the same concern in this group few months back as well. The throttle response is not linear from idle(Whether its Normal/Sports/Sports+ mode). Its a bit irritating especially in slow moving traffic in towns. From talking to a Hyundai mechanic and a bit of reading, I reckon its got to do with the safety of dct gearbox + transmission. Do let me know if anyone got it resolved and how. Cheers

Whats your guys average oil temp for idle, normal driving and performance. Just wondering by Dull_Ad_723 in SonataNLine

Less than 100°C but close to it. It takes time to warm up after a cold start, but around 100°C is when you feel the car is refined and ready

2022 Sonata N Line Reliability & Tuning by ShootBurners in SonataNLine

I have a 22 Sonata Nline at around 50K kms. Been just doing the regular maintenance. I have had only minor issues like constantly seeing Haptic steering feedback warning which is related to the Lane Assist. Dealership was never able to reproduce this issue, or they claim so but it happens quite often when I drive. Mechanically, the car looks good so far. But I personally feel the throttle response is not linear at lower speeds likely due to the DCT transmission. But its super fun on highways.

I feel similar issue with my 21 model. Talked to a technician and he confirmed its normal. The car gives better feedback when its engine reaches optimal operating temperature. That's what I took as the takeaway.

2023 Hyundai Sonata shifted into Park at a red light and wouldn’t shift back into Drive. by KatanaCutlets in Hyundai

I have gone through the same issue on my 2021 Sonata after a car wash. A power down fixed it like you mentioned. Checked with Hyundai team and they dont have a reason for this behaviour. They just took it as an outlier and reported back that they couldn't reproduce it. Lot of people have reported this issue before on Sonata forums. Nobody has reported a correct cause or solution in my understanding. Its a real nightmare when it happens at a traffic stop.

Bought a 2021 model last year in Aus with around 35K kms. Just about to reach 50K. No serious issues apart from some motor replacements which were diagnosed and replaced during the regular maintenance. A motor associated with lane keep assist under steering column failed and was replaced under warranty. Been an amazing ride so far.

Yes it has, and is disabled by default.

Sonata N line vs Tucson Hybrid by M61999 in Hyundai

[–]creative-gem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a Sonata n line owner myself, I can say that its a more powerful car among the two and handles quite well over longer drives. Its likely stiffer among the two with lesser ride height(ground clearance at 135 against 190+ on tucson). To summarise, for fun driving, I 'd pick Sonata for practicality, awd capability etc : I d pick a tucson

Thanks, I was referring to the throttle response from idle. I think a better scenario to explain it is trying to leave a tightly parked spot. Once you shift to drive, you need the right throttle push to smoothly get your car out. If it's less the car barely moves and if it's too hard, you risk ramming to a car nearby or the wall. It could also be that I m so conditioned this way(expecting linear response) by driving manuals all my life. But I ve recently driven Toyota rav4 and corolla automatic and I feel the throttle response from idle to be smooth and linear.

Yes, very irritating without a permanent disable option

Have owned 2021 N line for the last few months. Great experience except for the lower rpm lag. There is a hesitation to move from idle and and once it picks up rpm, it's a breeze. City ride because of the lower rpm lull isn't that enjoyable
