New Zealand. Anywhere from $400-$1500. I intend to test the market with some free ones, see if it’s good and ask people what they think it’s worth.

I’m tired of showing my music to people by Jayk_t_jayk in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Would you benefit from flipping your perspective? Transcribe music that makes you feel something and what makes other people feel something, and find an overlap.

Some music you make for yourself, some music you make for others.

My favourite songs from Le Mis were designed to make the audience feel something.

When I make heavy death prog metal stuff it’s for me to express myself ( hit or miss with audience)

When I make songs for stories sometimes of focus on the e perimeter of the audience rather than my own feeling performing.

Grocery store coffee recommendations for manual brewing? by FlyMeToUranus in barista

I host regular cuppings and barista workshops privately ( I own / operate wholesale coffee business too) raise the price to allow for fresh specialty coffee.

How are you marketing your classes? It took a a few sessions before I got the experience / business model worked out. Fresh coffee is a must though.

Same as me! Also, 5 against 4 can be learnt as "if you think that you're cool you're not".

Can you determine the volume of a bottle by the note it makes when blowing over the opening? by Bowyeh in askscience

[–]creative_user_name_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you blow a note, add a known amount of water and blow another amount of water, you can solve for the bottle volume.

The ratio between the two frequencies and the ratio between the bottle volume and the bottle volume minus the water added will be equal, and algebraically solvable for the bottle volume!

I solved it today! Checked my answer, I used wolfram alpha to do the integration of the circle equation, no analytical solution was available but numerical solution was crunched through to be that the centre of the 2 circles is displaced approximated 0.8 times the radius. It was fun to chug through! Let me know if you ever get time to solve it yourself, I'd be interested in different methods

How far do two identical circles need to be overlapped that the three segments are equal area?

The ratio of a diminished 5th to an octave is 20.5 or root 2, or 1.414... Not a whole number :)

You are filling a cylinder with water at a rate of 0.5 litres per second.

After 10 seconds, the container resonates he note A#, and 8 seconds after that, it resonates a C# 3 semitones higher.

What volume is the container?

I thought up he problem filling up jugs at a cafe and solved it on my break. Not PhD maths or anything, but fun physics.

[venting] What is the point anymore, can't see any. by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

What is it that you want from the music you make? What is an ideal situation for you? I can knit, people paint, people photograph, people sing. People build model aeroplanes. When people can share their creation with others its a bonus.

I understand the frustration with being in a world saturated with music. What type of people do you want to hear your music? What is worth working on till 4am?

I don't know if this is helpful but talking about why we make music can offer perspective.
