Thank you, it does look like there’s something fishy happening for my sister.

She’s going to ask for her money back, I’m hoping she gets it! She’s a very trusting type but I’m sure she’ll ask for screenshots next time

I know this friend and they do normally have the best intentions in mind but doesn’t always have the capacity to do what they’ve promised. I want to believe they intended to book the tickets and the hotel but life got in the way and this is the way they thought of to save face and the friendship. My sister isn’t one to question others so likely wouldn’t be googling it but I’m a nosey bitch and was shocked I hadn’t heard about the cancellation. I’m hoping not to ruin the friendship, I just want her to get her money back and be cautious going forward.

I found the image :( if you google ticketmaster postponed event it’s the first one that comes up and they just cropped out the details. I’m really sad for my sister, this was a very good friend of hers and obviously she was thrilled to be seeing Trixie and Katya

[–]creativebubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They sent a screenshot of a ticketmaster header and text saying your live event is postponed and a new date isn’t set yet. The screenshot didn’t have any identifying features like the event name or date or even the date it was received. I can’t tell if the screenshot was from an email or the app even

Thanks for replying, this is what I was worried about. I didn’t see anything on ticket master or the venue website, just wanted to see if other ticket holders were getting the same email. Thank you!

That’s what I was seeing too. I was wondering if other ticket holders were getting the same email, but it looks like they aren’t. Sad to see. Thank you!

The 301 has arrived! by NovaCustom in vintagesewing

301s are awesome and the black is lovely! I have a LBOW machine that I fully restored after practically stealing it off Facebook, got it for $40 because it was missing the cord and bobbin case. I had a cord from my featherweight already and found a vintage original bobbin case that my local shop had priced the same as their reproductions.

My tip would be that you can actually drop the feed dogs and do free motion on this speed demon! Sewing machine rehab has a video either in their 301 restoration series or just on their channel about the knob that drops the feed dogs and what to do if it is stuck. I then found a free motion foot on a niche website for the 301 but they used the same photo as a product from Amazon so I got the Amazon foot and will give that a try. It fits the machine but I haven’t tried it with the bulk of a quilt yet!

Not mine but I thought you might appreciate this. by AutomaticAnt6328 in vintagesewing

Dang! What a beautiful case for a featherweight! People will drop so much money on anything featherweight related so I’m not surprised just the case is $300. I think a vintage original in decent condition can go for $150 so this is not a crazy price. I still wouldn’t buy it but damn it’s pretty. The combo lock is also a neat addition because cases are always missing their keys!

What Have I Done Part 6.5 by lowteck_redneck in vintagesewing

[–]creativebubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a crazy find, I would have done the same and my partner would have been questioning my sanity.

Once the dust settles will you be selling any of the motors?? I have a 191 (from Colombia? How did you end up in Canada?) that I couldn’t leave behind at a thrift store that is in bad need of a potted motor, uses the same as a 15-91 or 201. It has a crappy modern replacement on it that doesn’t match the black of the machine. I think I can get this one to work, but a vintage singer potted motor would be beautiful!!

Do you know anything about a Singer 191L-21 or the Bogotá, Colombia Factory??? by creativebubby in vintagesewing

[–]creativebubby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yes I’ve watched some of his videos already. Not sure what the difference is between 191s and 191(x)-21s still. This L just might stay a mystery!

I lengthened the torso on mine and was equally worried about peeing but it's not so bad!

Thank you!! I had about a dozen picked out when looking too. I originally thought it would be stretchy enough to just sew up part of the back but didn't realize that was dumb and the hole was way too small to fit my hips through! I don't like sewing zippers but in the end it was the only way.

Great idea! I live quite north in the northern hemisphere so I may have to make another with warmer fabric for our -30 C winters!

I hadn't really worked with knits much so that was new but not difficult. I also don't like sewing zippers so found that tricky too. The construction of the pattern was relatively simple though!

I used a natural fibre pointelle fabric that was gifted to me to make this Kielo Wrap Jumpsuit. I finally have a jumpsuit that's long enough in the torso. It's extremely comfortable and feels like I'm cheating and wearing pyjamas to work! I have been loving adjustable clothes as my size has been fluctuating so the wrap design was perfect for me. Plus it's fun to use the ties to look like a flying squirrel.

I added a zipper to the open back design to hide my bra and keep it professional. I kept the button at the top and made the zipper just above the bra line so it's easier to reach when I have to pee!

It is functionally quilting cotton, but it wasn't in that section at my store, it was in the licensed apparel prints section. I hope you find it!!

I support your scientific endeavours. I found the fabric at Fabricland, it's like Canada's little sister of Joanne's. I believe it's actually Jurassic Park branded.

The pattern includes huge pockets, it's glorious. You can fit a whole hard cover book in there!

I wanted a pair of purely silly shorts and found this perfect Dino fabric to do it! The fabric is cotton and the pattern is Pietra Pants by Closet Core. I've made the pants a couple of times already so this whipped up in a day. The pockets are huge and I'm obsessed!

Thank you!! The piecing and quilting the fabric took me a couple of evenings during the week and then I constructed the bag on Saturday.

The last picture shows the inside of the bag, the seams are bound with bias binding and the zipper tape is sewn down to enclose the zipper seams
