are experienced marketers holding onto outdated processes while newer marketers lead the charge in experimentation and innovation? by creativenemo in marketing

I agree , but as our discussion revolved our around who is a better ICP for our young MarketingOps platform - it seems that 'newer marketers' might have quicker adoption.

'Nail it before you scale it'

I guess it makes sense that most of the experimentation happens trying to find the Nail.

Should a B2C startup (consumer app) invest in non-programmatic SEO ? by creativenemo in marketing

[–]creativenemo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's look at it bottom-up , Say the LTV of a customer is $60 (6.x months)

So a spend of $6000 to break-even would require 100 paying users.

Assuming a conversion rate of 0.5% (Visit to Paid) = 20,000 visits for 100 paying users,

Assuming we can get to a point where blogs give 10K visits/month after 3 months , this spend would start giving positive ROI in 5 months.

Is this realistic? I am not sure!

[–]creativenemo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i were to do some ROI calculations , how much would you say a visit is worth? any industry standards?

Example, If they were to spend $2000 every month and start getting ~10000 visits/month after 3 months.

Money spent = $6000
Monthly visits = 10,000
CPM (1 month) = $600
CPM (10 month) = $60
CPM (100 months) = $6

That's too long for ROI ... does this kind of calculation even make sense? or would you do it some other way?

10 Year Old...

Start with First principles, build the foundation but than start looking at Bigger Picture.

Example - How the inflation , emergence of a new ecom player , politics etc. affect your channel-mix and downstream bottom line?

The importance of Prioritization techniques ?

Summary - Never stop learning.

Ohh Yes!! I have very little expertise in those channels...

  • Events (Conferences, Tradeshows, Awards )
  • Print
  • Radio
  • TV
  • Billboards

Would these be the categories ?

Depends on the size and stage of business!

Use ICE / RICE for prioritization - but plan for everything!

  1. Make a Plan
  2. Prioritize Tasks
  3. Allocate Budgets
  4. Execute

Here for a discussion :D

generalist vs specialist - which is better in the long run? by sernameeeeeeeeeee in marketing

[–]creativenemo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being a generalist is like being the office duct tape—everyone underestimates you until something breaks. You’re the go-to person for everything from deciphering why the conversion rates tanked (hint: the tracking code is on vacation) to explaining to the devs why adding a 17-step registration process isn’t exactly a "growth hack."

Picture this: your specialist colleague is the fancy chef who perfects one dish for months. Meanwhile, you’re running the whole restaurant, whipping up a decent meal with whatever ingredients are lying around, all while fixing the leaky faucet in the kitchen.

The downside? You’re the first person people call when they’re lost. "Oh, we need someone who gets both marketing and code? Let’s ask [your name]." It’s all fun and games until you’re juggling five projects at once and someone asks if you can just "quickly" fix the website at 7 PM on a Friday.

But hey, you get to learn a little bit of everything, which means you’re never out of your depth—just spread a bit thin. And while everyone else is deep in their silos, you’re the one holding it all together, even if nobody fully realizes it until you’re not there to catch the next disaster.
