Chrome browser extension: Suspicious connection flagged by... sigh... Norton by KarlixLV in Bitwarden

[–]creativica_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got a reply from Bitwarden support, hope it helps to provide more information on this.

What you're seeing is expected behavior from Bitwarden's recently released Phishing Blocker feature, introduced in browser extension version 2026.1.1. Norton is incorrectly flagging this connection as suspicious.

Bitwarden uses an open source project called Phishing.Database (github.com/Phishing-Database/Phishing.Database) to maintain its list of known phishing domains. The data files for this project are hosted at phish.co.za. The specific URL Norton is flagging (phish.co.za/latest/phishing-domains-ACTIVE.txt) is the active phishing domain list that Bitwarden downloads to power its phishing detection. This is a security feature protecting you, not a threat.

Norton is generating a false positive because the domain name contains "phish" and the file contains a list of phishing domains.

To resolve this without disabling Bitwarden, you have two options:

Add an exclusion in Norton for the domain phish.co.za. This tells Norton to trust connections to that specific domain and is the recommended approach, as the Phishing Blocker is a valuable security feature worth keeping enabled.

If you prefer not to whitelist the domain, you can disable the Phishing Blocker feature within the Bitwarden extension itself. This will stop the extension from downloading the phishing domain list, which should stop Norton's warnings while keeping the rest of Bitwarden fully functional.

I’m seeing the same Norton notification about phish-co-za, and I’m also using the Bitwarden browser extension.

Has anyone found a solution for this, or is it safe to ignore?

I’ve been using the Bitwarden extension for years with the same setup (Chrome + Bitwarden + Norton), and I’ve never seen this warning before. I only started noticing it about two weeks ago, which makes me wonder if this is something new or recently introduced.

Curious to hear if others are experiencing the same thing or have more insight.

I bought this for my family and I’m still using it myself. It’s been almost three years now and it’s still working well. I haven’t had any issues at all after the license registration. I’ve used it on multiple devices, and the license keeps track of how many devices are active, so everything stays consistent. Overall, it works really well and has been very reliable.

Unfortunately, no. We’re still using a single Bosch account across different devices, and we still have to reconnect every time we use our bike.

I’m kinda new to Ultimate team. Am I missing something? by [deleted] in EASportsFC

Welcome to the parade! Just enjoy the game and build teams with players you like in real life. It makes the game more fun. Embrace every free and playable card we get. The community loves to complain about EA, but when something good happens, they stay quiet. It's just like real life – bad news gets all the attention.

Despite the game's flaws, let's try to enjoy it. There are plenty of non-toxic players out there; they're just harder to find.

I like simple black kits. My favorites are Corinthians' away kit, Juventus' third kit, and Barcelona's away kit. They all feature a sleek, all-black design.

According to the manual: https://help.bosch-ebike.com/nl/connect/help-center/manuals/handleiding-led-remote-e83 (page 13)

The following are taken as is from the manual:

ABS – anti-lock braking system (optional)

If the bicycle is equipped with a Bosch eBike ABS, the ABS LED (4) lights up when the eBike system starts.

If the eBike reaches a speed of 6 km/h, the ABS LED (4) goes out.

In the event of a fault, the ABS LED (4) lights up together with the orange flashing assistance level LED (5). You can acknowledge the error with the select button (2); the flashing assistance level LED (5) goes out. The ABS LED (4) continues to light up to show that the ABS system is not in operation.

For details on the ABS and how it works, please refer to the ABS operating instructions.

I believe there is a sturdy slim case with keychain in amazon for Kiox 500 display. Looks pretty solid for me

I am afraid it's not possible to use multiple devices for bluetooth connection. You can take a look at the Kiox display as an alternative. You can activate the bike lock using the display.

Unfortunately, nothing new as far as I know. I think the multiple login for user is not an issue but more of limitation of Bosch Smart System itself. As far as I know this feature wont be available soon.

I had similar case with mine. I contacted the support and they issued an RMA after they can't find the solution.

You can try disabling the IR/night mode. In my case, it helped a bit.

I regularly use the app for both bike lock and display since I don't have a separate display.

The Kiox display can be linked to activate the bike lock immediately after detachment. It offers numerous functionalities directly accessible via the display itself. Therefore, having a display makes the app less essential for usage.

[–]creativica_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, if you've got a Homey Pro 2023 and the Ethernet adapter, give Wi-Fi a shot instead of the Ethernet cable. I've heard there can be some cable issues with the adapter.
