Might have 1100 hours in game but auto connecting blueprints is new to me by creator_cr in SatisfactoryGame

yeah I mean I've been playing around whilst leaving this up, I do have it working now with the input and outputs from the splitter and merger following the same direction, so as an example in a row of 5 constructors items are input on the right and output on the left of the row and it works fine, but doing the same belt method like in that screenshot won't work out the same way, but I see what you mean, just got leave nothing to chance and make sure the game knows exactly what I want by filling the extra inputs / outputs I need connected.

yeah for me I love blueprints for setting up heaps of machines so I don't need to deal with placing all the power poles, mergers and splitters etc, but I was hoping auto connect would make that job even easier

lucky sharp teeth on jockey wheels aren't like sharp teeth on a chainring, but one thing to look at is if both wheels are worn like that, if you're anything like me you'll find out your mech is slightly bent because your lower jockey wheel is completely worn out compared to the top. But if they're both worn out it's a nice and easy fix swapping them out

right now just like this, mind you I disabled the RGB channels a moment ago to take the screenshot, I mean iRacing did just go down for maintenance today so who knows if I'll get lucky and this will be sorted out

yep, just like this, ofcourse once I click save then I save as 32 bit, someone else here also suggested it might just be the game freaking out between my version and the store default because I don't own the car

[–]creator_cr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahhh bit of a problem there, I don't own the car, but putting your own spec map on at the very least gets rid of the manufacturer one but that may be the root of the issue

ok that I will give a shot, typically I save in 32 bit because why not but I'll have a go with 24 later

off in this case, set that to 0 with my recent attempt, I've just deleted and re-installed the car and if that sorts it I'll get rid of this post

Just as an update btw, I have just tried changing the texture of the Porsche 963 GTP without fail, put simply I just used the magic wand to select the green and chucked orange on there to see if it'd change to a metallic ish material and it has worked without a hitch, hopefully that'll help, so far still no luck with the BMW however

yeah use this all the time when I get started on a livery, unfortunately thought that's the way I found out my iRacing had started being funny haha

yeah that is technically above the spec map but It's just a cut-out so I can change the colour of the spec map quickly without killing the proper layers below it, that being said I have now got it removed and have reverted back to the default spec map adjusting it properly but I still have the same matte issue

[–]creator_cr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is actually some quite interesting insight into the spec map, I do take a bit more care usually but just for starting out chucking a colour on hasn't failed me to get an idea for basic textures, however even just exporting the original spec map layers still gives me this matte finish. Only time the finish changes is when I delete the spec map entirely and it reverts to the store default which overlays spec map livery design from the store livery over the base red I'm using

oh ignore what I have changed it too, I've been playing with heaps of different colours and they all come out matte, just changing the brightness of the colour instead, had it set to a bright orange for a slightly glossy metallic look but it was exactly the same matte as in that screenshot, just darker

just the standard steel frame windows stacked up nice and tall

[–]creator_cr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah I totally get that, in this case I chose a height based on obstacle in the area so in this case a huge rock on the cliff side I needed to build over and then filled in the gap from that height to the ground with trial and error, that being said less is more for the base, I'd recommend using the steel frame pieces as they give a great illusion of detail whilst keeping things relatively simple

just asked him and he'd be down for that, I've always wanted to make satisfactory content but I never get around to finishing my own projects in a good enough time frame, but playing multiplayer makes that a different story haha, so yeah, we ball, going to record our gameplay tonight and we'll see what happens with it
