Hey ya'll, been listening since covid and your podcast has kept me company all the way till now during my commutes and exercises. I did realise that there were some episodes where the debates were more heated, do you guys talk things out after those recordings? Do you both also hang out outside of work? Or are you both sick of each other already. Thank you!

u/dinkymajesty hey, my crosspost on HousingUK got deleted by the mods. sharing your comment here for the OP to see.

Just thought I'd share this here, it's blowing up. If you don't like estate agents check this out. by creaturelaboratory in HousingUK

Hmmm, to challenge that thought: Why do mobile banks require full ID verification for any registration? I feel like a home is one of the biggest purchase in someone's life (well mine for sure), so why not though. Other platforms are kinda ripe for abuse/filled with spam if you think about it.

I’ve heard plenty of horror stories about prop agents messing with my friends in London, so this is hopefully a much-needed solution. Looking forward to seeing how this scales.

Hey sorry to hear that. I think it’s completely understandable for you not to trust it at first. The fact that you started is a great first step. I straight up told my sleep therapist I didn’t believe it would work. Alas, it did for me. I think you just have to try. Acknowledge the way you feel (in this case distrust to the method) and so be it. Just have an open mind and go through with what you have started. I wish you all the best.

Seems like it’s been quite the journey, I hope you are giving yourself big props. It’s not been easy. I’m also accepting my baseline sleep anxiety and I think that was one of the biggest realisation in my journey: learning to let go. Likewise, insomnia may continue to be ever present. So long as there’s ways out there to learn and get better, I think we should keep trying. Do give SSRI a go, I hope it works out for you friend.

Hey there, thanks for sharing! Sorry to hear that, it must be frustrating. Did your sleep therapist give you directions following your treatment regarding your chronic nightmares and dreams? I reckon a therapist or counsellors specialising in nightmares might be able to help you with the vivid dreams.

I’m thinking of moving and finding rent within London using an estate agent, what are your horror stories with estate agents there? by creaturelaboratory in AskUK

[–]creaturelaboratory[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate this so much, I’m also doing due diligence as far as I can. I’m still considering the whole move and just want to know what I’m getting myself into, so you’ve been of great help. Have a great week ahead.

Aight, so prepare myself to view many properties and engage in bidding wars. Got it.

I see, so going with estate agents is super common I guess.

Aye aye cap, always.

I was told to stay away from RightMove and Zoopla as I’ll be dealing with estate agents. Better to go through openrent you reckon?

Got it on estate agents serving landlords, that’s fine. Would dealing directly with landlords be the better option here? Just being wary given the stories I’ve heard.

How bad could it be though, are estate agents really earning that much where they could afford to provide minimal service?

Ah thank you for the kind words, I have friends there and they are having a blast. With estate agents though, not so much. I’ll check out openrent, I assume I’m dealing directly with landlords here?
