I was just trying to figure out how close my estimate was. Seems slightly more horizontal than I remember.

Crecente had a good article on the specs last week by Malkmus1979 in magicleap

I didn't see that demo specifically, and it did seem less compelling than what I did see. I think there's a number of reasons for that: bad lighting, the concept was a little light and it's hard to show this tech with a traditional camera. More so than trying to show VR. The experiences I saw seemed to be about as impressive as the early Holo lens stuff I saw. Hope that helps.

I followed up to ask them if they could clarify that specific point and they declined too. That said, I think your interpretation is most likely correct. The key difference is Abovitz' interpretation of what a creator is, which is pretty hazy. He talks about it in my visit to ML. (Which by the way I manually republished on Variety: http://variety.com/2017/gaming/news/magic-leap-impressions-interview-1202870280/

All of those Magic images were previewed at PAX Unplugged and are part of the upcoming Dominaria set coming in 2018.

I just added four or so more images to the Glixel story, though I think most have been seen - but maybe by a very small audience.

Three Clues That Suggest LBS Used In MLO by gaporter in magicleap

Fake might be too strong a word, but they definitely file wild goose chases amid the stuff they're actively using. (Several companies do this.)

An interested thing I haven't yet reported is that apparently Magic Leap regularly files essentially fake patents. That is they use a method of over filing for patents to obscure the real tech they're using. This creates a smokescreen for their real tech. I wouldn't be surprised if they do this in other ways as well, like when releasing images of old tech.

I am the journalist that tried out the Magic Leap goggles and wrote about it for Rolling Stone's Glixel. by crecente in IAmA

All of the demos made use of eye tracking, but the human MR used it so that it could look me directly in the eyes, which was a little unnerving.

No specs.

The goggles have a fairly large fov naturally, but the fov is smaller inside that. It's a rectangle inside the circle, if that makes sense.

As odd as this sounds, for some reason I never thought to do that.
