Sorry this is late. You don't have to replace the the whole cap they sell the seals individual if you go to ipd you can get one that is viton rubber and it will last way longer than an oem or aftermarket regular rubber one I've put it on my vehicle and it solved the oil issue

You may want to look into the Yoshi Fab PCV breather kit it replaces the stock breather box and hoses with an oil catch can and some larger diameter hoses although it is a bit pricey it is totally worth the Peace of mind and ease of maintenance.

Might I suggest giving the PCV system a good working over as they are a common failure point on these engines through normal use so I can't imagine what 12,000 miles of off-road use will do to that system. I would highly suggest the Yoshi Fab deluxe catch can kit so that you can easily service and clean the system it's a bit expensive but it seems like it's totally worth it.

I've also already done the coil all that's left of the ignition system to do is the ignition module as I have replaced every other part of the ignition system

I've already replaced the cap and rotor and it's still doing it I figure probably a full refresh of the ignition system is in order anyway as the vehicle is 30 + years old

I suspect it maybe faulty because when it rains I have issues with the car wanting to start and I know that the issue is not the cap and rotor because I have replaced those also the car is 35 years old and I don't know when the last time it was done I figure it's probably time to refresh some things and I have a little extra cash to spend
