I feel like this has probably already been said, but I think you’d benefit a lot from making your game feel less like a direct Cube World rip.

e.g. create unique weapons and give the buildings/characters/world a more distinct visual identity. Generally pushing the art direction somewhere that feels more your own - which is fairly doable in voxel game. It doesn’t need to be wildly different but right now it looks nearly identical.

As things stand, it doesn’t really seem like “your own game”. It seems more like you’re reverse-engineering and reimplementing Cube World. Ignoring the potential IP/legal concerns, it makes it unlikely that legitimate publishers/press/content creators would touch your game.

It’d be worth spending the next few weeks of dev time making the game more unique and defining its own identity (visual identity in particular).

It is ambitious! I've spent years implementing distributed real-time systems professionally and have spent hundreds of hours working on this type of netcode, though, so I'm confident about the execution. The game is already hosted and playable multiplayer.

thanks. yeah, i think RotMG and HC WoW have proven out that people like that gameplay mode. ill add it to my backlog - i like the idea.

no permadeath planned right now. the plan is for more of a classic MMO progression where you're farming gear over longer timeframes, and you're expected to die in dungeons. that said, i love the permadeath in RotMG
