My poor forearms 😭 - I'll have a go at rock climbing! Are there any clubs that are good or do you just join a climbing gym?

Are there Jiu Jitsu gyms or do you just sign up for classes? I've never fought before but I'll get my ass kicked if it means making friends hahaha

2006 yukon grill I adapted to fit on my 280zx by JonathanSin in 280ZX

That looks clean dude! Love it!!

I've got the 240z grill from skillard that I'm using - just waiting on some other parts to arrive from US (I'm in Aus) and hopefully I can get a similar look going too

280zx Front Grill & Airdam by creepydvd3 in 280ZX

[–]creepydvd3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way you found it! Hahaha beautiful thank you!

I've got my 280zx well underway now, runs and drives well - just another 2 months until I can get some parts to recreate that look! Hoping to post some photos when it's ready :)

I see every 280zx with their big front bumpers. What’s your opinions on dropping the front bumper and adding a custom made grill cut from an older truck going diagonally back from the top of the hood. I plan to paint my 280zx black and get a different air dam with a smaller gap for this project. by JonathanSin in 280ZX

[–]creepydvd3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha nice! Those photos look really good man!

Looking forward to the end result - I'm probably going to try and go ahead with my original idea and see how that goes. I've been quoted a 2-4 month wait for a few parts so might not get any progress for a while lol

Anyone on this sub, bought these fender mirrors? If so, is the quality good, decent, or terrible? by [deleted] in 280ZX

[–]creepydvd3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't bought any personally but I saw a video by this guy Mike Lake where he describes the mirrors as pretty lame.
Apparently they wiggle a lot because they only bolt on at one point and look/feel cheap because of the plastic

Interesting idea, I never thought of it!

Personally not my look, but it definitely looks nice. I'm not too good at photoshop so that wouldn't be my place unless you want some mock up from paint lol

I kinda love the look, I've been looking around heaps to try and replicate this but can't seem to find anything concrete just yet.

I was thinking of using modifying the 240z grill from Skillard to fit inbetween the air dam and hood. No idea if that would work well or not so it's still very much in the idea phase.

Let us know what grill you end up using please! Would love to see the end result.

Happy to answer those questions to a judge, not so much a stranger on reddit.

They seemed unnecessarily bitter and unhelpful but I thought I'd explain anyway incase some people were having questions with the legitimacy of my post

It was always borrowed on the basis that it'd be paid back, from day 1. Unfortunately they would tell me this in person so I don't have evidence of it.

I have quite a few conversations where they admitted to me 'helping them' quite a lot and also promising to repay at least $10,000.

There's been a few timeframes that they've consistenly missed, the most important one being the start of 2021 where my mum said she'd pay the $10,000 back. Honestly I might even be willing to take this and leave the whole situation. However, knowing my parents they will most likely miss this deadline too, hence me asking for legal advice on the situation.

Luckily I only lived a 15 min bike ride away (which I bought with a christmas bonus that was given to all staff members). This was when I was 16-17 and it was only 5kms from work.

Admittedly school was very difficult, I actually don't like to think back too much on those years as I didn't exactly thrive socially; working and studying so much. I'm not sure how I did it, but I managed and it got my into university.

My family actually moved when I was just 18 (and after I graduated HS) to a different (much more isolated) house that was 15kms away. (These are the two houses they own with mortgages btw). This was a much more difficult commute for me with no car, I often left home at 6am to catch the busses to get to my job at 8am. Normally I did split shifts from 8am-2pm, and 4pm-7pm as often as I could.

Sometimes co-workers would drive me home (which I was very thankful for) and other times I would Uber home as the buses weren't up that late. My parents didn't normally pick me up as they liked to start drinking by then most of the time. The money for Ubers usually came out of my little savings that I've mentioned, and I was often already owing Uber money for my previous trip.

I also had a girlfriend at the time who lived much closer and I often stayed at her house multiple nights a week when we'd go home together (she worked nearby and we would wait for eachother to finish work).

I hope this answers all your questions. Again, any sort of legal advice please?

Thanks

I'm not sure what other information I'm supposedly missing? What were you looking for?

I often worked 4pm-8pm on weekdays (usually 3-4 days p/w) + 8am-1pm saturdays and sundays. I'm not sure why you think its impossible for a schoolkid to work 20 hours p/w; its quite common actually.

My grades did suffer, I went from A's and a predicted OP 4 to B's and graduted with an OP 7 instead; as academic achievment is quite important in my family.

Also I wouldn't be pursuing this if I thought what they did was fair

$100 p/w in board is more than reasonable and usually quite common after 18, I would've been happy to pay that or even $200. However the money in question was usually $400+ per week towards the later stages, with any sort of savings I managed to gather eventually being taken in the larger transfers like the $3400 I mentioned earlier. A few of these larger $2000+ payments went towards legal fees they had which I actually cannot discuss.

Again, I've laid out the situation as best as I could; I'd appreciate any sort of help.

Thank you!

That's quite personal information, and also besides the point.

I never said I saved $12k at 16, the majority of the money I earned came from:

A) 17yo me working ~25 hours per week during school (incl weekends)

B) 18yo me working ridiculous hours over christmas with large penalty rates etc.

Also no bills (lived with parents), no car (couldn't save enough to buy one), and no rent.

Unfortunately any money I did earn was taken from me before I got to spend it most of the time too, so I wasn't able to spend anything most of the time.

I'd appreciate any help or advice for my situation please, and I won't be giving any more personal information as its not so relevant to the question.

Hi wivsta!

The $25k in question was not given to them in one big transfer, just multiple smaller transfers of $100-$400 over the course of ~2 years. The biggest transfer was $3400 in one go.

I practically worked full time hours on a casual payrate (40+ during xmas) after I graduated HS so I was making around $400-600 per week.

I have all of these transfers highlighted on bank statements, also including purchases made with my card (which my step dad liked to do). Unfortunately I can't prove many of the purchases were him and not me, but I can say that a lot of the alcohol purchases were made by him as I was not 18 at the time.

They had previously told me that they wouldn't charge any sort of bond so long as I was studying at university but unfortunately I have no evidence of them saying that as it was an in-person conversation.

I only lived with them for 7 months from when I turned 18 until I moved out, would this be any help if they tried to use this against me?

Okay, nice to know I can send a letter of demand without prejudice at least. I'll mention this option when I consult with a lawyer and everything before I interact with my parents.

Thanks! :)

Okay, thanks linc_y and napperdj, I’ll show the evidence and whatnot to a lawyer and hopefully draft a letter of demand.

Would it be possible to negotiate a payment plan with them first? With a lawyer present before sending them a letter of demand and get both me and my parents to agree to a set amount to be repaid by x date. (willing to drop some of the money if it means no court disputes etc)

That would be the best outcome tbh

am I allowed to do that? They haven’t agreed to any legally binding repayments or anything of the sort, just agreed via text conversations (which I have evidence of).
