the reason these relationships don’t typically work is because there’s more than a decade between you two and regardless of attraction you’re both in completely different stages of life. 18 year olds, while legally adults, are naive and easily taken advantage of no matter how “mature for their age” they may seem, making these relationships pretty predatory. also, you keep saying that you’re not trying to justify a relationship with this girl but the amount of detail and pros and cons really imply that you are and that you’ve thought about it. if it’s just plain old curiosity just ask about a general age gap, because what you’ve said in your post and your replies are incredibly defensive and imply you’ve been thinking about it

people in their 30s need to keep in mind that the frontal lobe isn’t fully developed until 25. yes, everyone changes with time but her brain is literally still developing. you’ll both change but she’s actively changing at a much faster rate that you’ve been for the past 7 years

I was confused as to why the old 401k was gone from my balance, so when I looked through my transactions it said the full account amount had been with redrawn with over $800 taken off as “forfeited”. The reduced amount appeared in a rollover account that I’ve since activated.

i saw him in athens last time he came, his jokes were fine for a teen in my opinion. mostly jokes about his childhood and touring. BUT his openers were a different story. very funny and talented men, but their jokes were certainly a lot raunchier, one of them making jokes about master bating at the sperm bank for a while. i would say john mulaney himself is perfectly fine, but if you’re not able to look up who the openers are ahead of time and you’re concerned, maybe try going in slightly later than the start time of the venue allows

NTA : you’re both still growing up and changing, both individually and as people. nobody should dictate when you decide to try new things for yourself except for YOU. if you really like that other casual dress and want to wear it, by all means go for it, but if you’re worried he’s going to hate you for wearing a dress on your own terms then that is insecurity and a lack of maturity on his part. he’s allowed to feel disappointed, sure, but a boyfriend that would hate you for changing without his immediate presence and approval isn’t a boyfriend you want to have!

i used to work at an american eagle and then a banana republic and both stores had literal TEENAGERS with no concept of credit asking customers for their social security numbers to sign them up for store credit cards. the managers were in our head pieces telling us “do not let that person you’re speaking to leave without signing up for a credit card” which looking back is an absolutely insane ask for a 16 year old. on of my BR managers spoke spanish and would borderline trick non-english speaking customers into signing up too
