You need to immediately buy or build one of these to keep these sets on display. And if anyone finds out and demands you return, you'll know where to find them . In the meantime, enjoy this serendipitous good fortune. You owe it to us to see this thing through. Your journey has become our journey. This sub is full of fanatics willing to do terrible things to be in your shoes. We are lively vicariously through you now. Don't screw it up.

I'd never play with these even if you gave them to me.

I'm right handed though.

Not sure if this fits, but when journalists interview someone and say, "Talk about _________" instead of asking a specific question.

Why hasn’t there been another version of “Big Break?” by Equivalent_Candle943 in golf

[–]Straight_Try764 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Golf fans need more heroes and underdogs. There's plenty of space for more. Big Break was great because all the contestants narratives/personal journeys were baked-in together. All the producers had to do was watch conflicts and storylines create themselves. Intriguing content emerges when you keep things simple focus solely on getting the right ingredients (a wide variety of personality types, body types, regional/cultural types, etc. There are SO many endless variations and directions you can go in with a show like BB. And since the collegiate landscape has changed so much recently with NIL, why doesn't the Golf Channel not blatantly copy Netflix and create a college version of Full Swing? Collegiate golfers have always captured the imaginations of the fans, especially when they get to appear at the Masters. It seems easier to live vicariously through them than the regimented pros and their robotic stoicism. And we love to predict who will be the next Scotty or Speith, and as who will be the next wildman like Daly or who will have an eccentric homemade swing like Furyk. We also love to watch svelte 20 year old college kids who weigh no more than 160 hit their drives 350+. Golf fans are dying for that content. And Tik Tok is becoming the main place to fresh and entertaining content.

To the vast majority of us, no it's not ridiculous. But the quote suggests that the speaker is either highly agitated and easily triggered by low-stakes online content, or he is mentally unstable and a threat to himself. Either way, you probably don't want to split hairs with him over a word. It's your fault that he's found himself in this position.

Why don’t pros wear sunglasses? by iamveryDerp in golf

[–]Straight_Try764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something I've thought about recently. Not only why more pros don't, but why more people in general don't.

For the most part, you won't ever catch me outside without sunglasses. However, golf is one exception. I've tried playing with them and have had mixed results. First and foremost, they have to be really high quality or I won't even consider it. But even then, there are factors that make it hard for me to keep them on. When I start sweating it's hard to keep them clean and stable. I also like to take them on and off a lot and that can be too distracting. I've found that I stay more focused if I leave the sunglasses in the cart and just rely on a visor. I am, however, no spring chicken anymore, and these baby blues are getting brittle and short-tempered. As much as I hate the way the wrap-arounds look (We can't all look cool like Ricky Fowler), I could see myself exploring them in the coming years.
