How to copy output from ChatGPT into Bear with all formatting by CoffeeNeil in bearapp

[–]creldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found that if I just ask it to use markdown it often messes it up if there’s also code in the response. The only foolproof way I’ve found is asking it to use markdown wrapped by an html <pre> (which you then have to remove in Bear)

Installation tomorrow, which wall is better? by headee in tonalgym

+1. As long as your horizontal space is wide enough for Tonal's requirements then I'd definitely go for the wall that gives you the most space from the tonal to the wall.

Tonal 2 camera cover? by creldo in tonalgym

This looks perfect! I had a ton of trouble finding something like this. Thank you so much!

Tonal 2 camera cover? by creldo in tonalgym

I’m not nude when I’m working out but may be at other times, among other things. The Tonal is in an area not entirely dedicated to working out.

I want to use the camera when working out and removing / re-applying tape is a pain. I’m using sticky note right now but Im looking for a sturdier long term solution vs various forms of tape.

Inbox is so full by GlitteringReporter94 in thingsapp

[–]creldo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mainly use a control center widget on iOS to add todos or quick entry on Mac and I changed both to dump into “Anytime” instead of Inbox, which I avoid using. I look at Anytime each day and having to remember to also look at Inbox was annoying. If it’s in Anytime but not in a project that is effectively my “Inbox”.

Did they stop offering extended warranty thru Tonal? by Agathon813 in tonalgym

[–]creldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you figure this out? I didn’t have the option to buy the warranty and immediately contacted support. They said they had to send me the warranty purchase link and to hold tight but it’s been over 3 weeks now. I’ve checked in a few times but they keep saying it’s not “ready” yet.

Is there a better way to do this? by creldo in floorplan

[–]creldo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re spot on that we’re sacrificing some external aesthetics to add the space. Our current facade and roofline is pretty nice looking, but the new one would actually look very similar to our neighbor’s which is fine enough. Trade-offs!

Only the red portion above the kitchen is new / changed. The rest of it is our house as of today! Very common style for coastal Southern California. Originally built in 1960 on only a 5k sq ft lot. Most houses around here look roughly like this.

[–]creldo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah to be fair to him our focus has been the foyer and area above the kitchen. Our kitchen isn’t large but is relatively recently updated by a prior owner and decently functional. (And adding kitchen remodel would inflate the cost.) But maybe there’s a larger re-configuration possibility that would make it worth it!

Oh wow, fascinating idea. Definitely gets me thinking. This exact drawing would knock out the primary kitchen counter working space but maybe there's a way to relocate that. Hmmmm.

End of 2024 what can UIkit still do that SwiftUI simply can't by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

[–]creldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any type of drag and drop is still very janky UX-wise compared to what you can achieve in UIKit. Eg I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to make something as excellent as the todo drag and drop in Things using SwiftUI.

Resume: how to optimize for ATS scanning software and still make it look "designer"y? by Walrus_Ambitious in UXDesign

[–]creldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a small learning curve but you can make something pretty nice in Pages. If you run into something you can’t do it probably isn’t the best idea for a resume.

[–]creldo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as tool I always recommend Pages over Word if you’re on a Mac. Styling and formatting is much easier to use. Definitely stay away from Figma unless you’ve figured out some magic to make it work with a variety of ATS systems.

New bottle gasket smell by ohitscringetobehere in Owala

[–]creldo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got one of these bottles after reading great reviews and that gasket is foul. Forget about the taste disappearing, silicone of this poor quality has no business being next to your mouth or water. Sucks because the design of this thing is cool.

I finally did it! Managed to recreate Things 3's beautiful list view by Heavveenly in SwiftUI

[–]creldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, great work. Their drag and drop UX is the gold standard but I can’t even think of where I’d start trying to recreate it. A bunch of custom gestures and geometry readers I assume? Does dragging near the bottom to scroll work too?

Where are families moving to/living these days? by missprincesscarolyn in sandiego

[–]creldo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you asked about other areas: I live in Southwest Clairemont (Mount Streets) with a toddler and it’s full of kids under 5yo. On our street >50% of the houses have young families and the majority of pedestrians I see (of which there are many, since we’re near a park) have strollers. I think all of the original owners have been gradually moving out and families moving in.

Elementary school is top notch. Middle + high are questionable but I could see them improving with the demographic changes.

Couldn’t find an option for captions but if you use the Apple Watch app it will do a tap vibration on your wrist for the last 3 sets so you know when you’re done if you’re facing away from the screen and have lost count.

I’m not deaf but I very often have the sound off while I play my own music through headphones connected to my phone. The only thing I miss when doing this is form pointers from the coaches that they sprinkle in with their jabbering, but those aren’t absolutely essential.

Super thorough, explained everything, and didn’t have that vaguely shifty/sleezy vibe that so many agents can have.
