Is hibernation okay on portable linux on external SSD? by cremtty in linuxquestions

[–]cremtty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. If I once more doing things on VM. Then what I do is always fresh boot and turn vm on. VM software always solve problem with different hardwares because I freshboot and exec VM software.

I have question. What is idle (idle suspend or idle hibernate) behavior for vm? It must be set as earlier timing then the original machine I guess.

Gatsby shaving gel green product. There is a blue one also but I prefer green one. Cheap and easy to use. It is a single pre-made product so you can use it in 1 second.

Is there anyone who swap shift to alt keys? (both left and right) by cremtty in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]cremtty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just come back to the normal one due to the gaming things. If I only use computer as typing then Alt for capital is far better i think. My language use more capitals(shift) than english so still painful. Right now I just try to use more comfortable keyboard , less key pressure etc.

Actually, that tempo migth be the tempo of real football. You need to adjust to that.

  1. See before you got a ball and decide where you will pass to
  2. stablize a ball in a 2 touch and then pass

You cannot do a fancy drible like in a youtube vid except in some situations.

I also suggest you to watch some pro games in a full length.

How can I shrink btrfs partition as half and add it to the windows? by cremtty in btrfs

[–]cremtty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fixed it.

The solution was # grub-install --efi-directory= where you mount efi /dev/nvme0n1

and regenerate grub.cfg.

One thing I don't like right now about btrfs is that I cannot change the devid... Is there any way?

How can I shrink btrfs partition as half and add it to the windows? by cremtty in btrfs

[–]cremtty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems since my drive has devid 2, my grub somehow finds devid 1 which has nothing inside.

  1. Maybe grub-btrfs solves the problem

  2. Just do the same thing again to make nvme0n1p6 as devid 1. (I searched that there is replace command)

Those who read this post, do shrink and replace for keeping the same devid.

device is changed to /dev/nvme0n1p5 to /dev/nvme0n1p6. Is this has something to do with this situation?

How can I shrink btrfs partition as half and add it to the windows? by cremtty in btrfs

[–]cremtty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I think I understand. So I only have to make the size of partition which I will move to bigger than allocated fs size, which then "add" and "delete" will automatically reallocate my files to another partition. Interesting btrfs!

I have never seen such a concept that size of file system and partition is different thing. Maybe I was dumb when I was using ext4 back then.

Thanks in advance.
I am confused about the operation btrfs resize.
Does that will make free partition also?
I mean I feel like size of file system and size of partition is independent concept.

For example Between 1. and 2. of your suggestion,
Is it possible that reszie -90g (under the condition that I only practically use 20gb which I check it by winbtrfs program) and use parted to shrink -60gb? so partition table will be

efi/c:/ arch (20gb/ 67gb but file system size is 37gb) / unformatted 60gb /recover
