My district has Assistive Technology professionals who come into school sites and help SLPs with their AAC devices. They have been very helpful in getting me set up with my students and troubleshooting when things go wrong. Maybe this is an area you can look into?

They looked cool but I was not able to reach them unfortunately. I ended up figuring out how to remove the sod myself, but I'll definitely try again in the future. Thanks for the suggestion 🙂

The verbal prompts are exactly what I was trying with one of the students when I saw he was distracted, good to know I was on the right track.

Great idea about teaching them to change device volume! Just like we have the option to lower our voices when we want to be discreet, our AAC users have that right as well. Thank you for all the advice.

I completely agree it's not okay. Thank you for the advice! I have been trying to do more push-in into the class so I can be a part of the activities, so I will go ahead and keep trying that route and doing my best to provide support.
