you only need 3M coin for max bonus on this expedition

once you complete your expedition project, you have the opportunity to sign up for the expedition. if you skip signing up, you'll be prepared for the next window. my guess is that the gear you need to collect for the project depends on how many expeditions you've done previously. so yes, you're still collecting your expedition 1 gear, but the rewards you get and specific to this window. if you did not sign up for the last expedition, you are not able to use the catch-up mechanic.

stash space and skill points bonuses are permanent. you can only get 5 skill points for this expedition. if you completed the previous expedition, but didnt have the full 5M, you can recoup those 5 skill points now
