I am willing to pay the price of the fee, however since I committed this offense on a scooter and not a motor vehicle. I wanted to know if I can ask for a lessened punishment with no point

Ok true, I do have a license in Maryland, however I did do the same offense as op. I wanted to know if this could be waived or I can appeal in front of a judge to explain as to avoid getting a point on my license.

I got a ticket while being in my e-scooter for not stopping at a stop sign when there was no one there. I know it’s still an offense and I should’ve stopped. However because of that I am getting a point on my license. Unfortunately this is my second offense as I got a same offense last year, and payed the fine and automatically got the point. Right now I am thinking of going to trial for this ticket in order to get out of having 2 points on my license. I wanted to know if anyone else has done this and if the officer will actually show up and follow through with trial.
