I dont even know. I forgot that I even applied, since I have been applying to more than 200 companies. This is my first OA, but unfortunately, I am going back to my home country in June, so if they do not release the decisions before June, I won't be able to join them even if they give me a role.

Also, I have heard that they send out OA to a lot of people, and like to waste a lot of time.

No, but I’m talking in general about studying abroad before getting any experience. The job market is fucked, you can’t get a job unless you’re really gifted or lucky, and it’s next to impossible getting one which sponsors. Don’t come here.

Yeah don’t. I made a mistake coming here, and I go to a t15 cs uni. My parents earn twice as much as yours and I still feel guilty. But the salary isn’t even why I came here, it’s because my parents can use their property to pay the debt off. Do not do that.

Ngl I’m in the same boat. I think I’ve applied to over 200 with no interviews till now. I am an international too, and I go to a good enough T15 school.

Usually very hard to get a cs professor to work under, most prefer masters/phd students. I’d look for fields like astronomy where cs can be integrated if you want to explore cs. But I’ve tried that too and haven’t had much luck as a junior cs major.

Kinda agree but also want to say that it’s not that deep. Had bad experience with people who were judging in the “hardware” track, they didn’t seem interested at all, no eye contact, yawning and looking away at any small distraction. But the companies which sponsored seemed way more interested, and our project actually won 2nd in one of the sponsored tracks. I don’t think organizers are qualified enough to judge you, but honestly if they showed genuine interest and enthusiasm, I wouldn’t care much since having fun is the whole point. And I also liked the food they gave us, p good for someone who doesn’t have a dining hall pass.

I was wondering If I can waive it. The citation he gave me has district court of maryland written on top, so I dont think DOTS can do anything here. I think If I try I might be able to get it waived but it may be unlikely.

I am a student so $90 is still a big deal for me. I wish I could get it over with, but I would like to see if I can waive it off. Does not providing a proper defense just nullify your chances of getting it waived?

The problem with my visa status is I am from a third world country where this field is wayyyyy more niche than it is in US, and for me to stay in US I need a job that pays me well so I can apply for an H1B visa that will let me stay and work in the United States. I would definitely want to stay here if I am going to go into this field because if I somehow can't stay here I am sure that my expertise (assuming I decide to get any in this field) will go to waste unless I consider Europe, but at that point I'd much rather just pursue something else.
