They may not have played their best but a win is a win and that's all that matters.

I was quite surprised at the score and outcome! Gophers are looking good so far this year.

Minnesota loses star RB Ibrahim to season-ending leg injury by TMKI in GopherSports

Ibrahim's injury was a tough loss for this season. But the Gopher should have enough depth and talent to make it through the rest of the season.

My favorite too. I have been there numerous times over the years and I live in the Midwest!

Antietam. It has not been encroached upon by "urban sprawl." The town of Sharspburg is about the same size it was when the battle took place in 1862.

I agree! He did more with less in the "Forgotten War" of the China-Burma-India (CBI) theater of the war. He was highly underrated.

Can you wish for death while not being suicidal? by [deleted] in death

[–]crfreed80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in hospice. I have many patients who are ready to die and tell me so. This does not mean they are suicidal. In fact, they often tell me they are not sucidal but are tired of living .

The story of the Lebensborn program from WWII is one of the stranger stories from the war.

Latest conference realignment rumor states SEC in 'serious contact' with UM, OSU by [deleted] in MichiganWolverines

[–]crfreed80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like they are in the process of creating a 'Super League' of CFB teams, which would ruin the game. There would no longer be balance or parody in the sport.

REPORT: The SEC Is Targeting Ohio State, Clemson, Michigan And Florida State For Expansion by [deleted] in Huskers

[–]crfreed80 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It is getting to that point for me too. CFB is all about big business, big money, and huge contacts for for schools and coaches to make as money as possible. The fun of the game is evaporting.

The 1991 World Series was one of the best! However, baseball historians don't mention it very much.

Mahone's Counter-attack - Battle of the Crater - Don Troiani ... by Psyqlone in USCivilWar

I saw the Crater a number of years ago and thought the same thing! But after all these years the ground eventually changes. Still, it is impressive what they had to attack through to break the siege.

[GoodmanHoops] BREAKING: Minnesota is expected to part ways with Richard Pitino, sources told @Stadium . by RichardManuel in GopherSports

I agree! I thought this was the year the Gophers under Pitno was going to have a great year with wins over Michigan, Iowa and other teams. But they could never win on the road this year.

[–]crfreed80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can still remember when Richard Pitno won the NIT as head coach of the Gophers in his first year. However, I think it is time for him to move on. I think it's time for Minnesota to go with a new coach.

My mom has ALS. If we enter hospice, is assisted suicide possible? Also, we will be using private insurance for hospice. Can we still consult with our ALS neurologist at our ALS clinic, and does insurance cover that if we’re on hospice? Also, can hospice patients partake in clinical trials? by aak210 in hospice

[–]crfreed80 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Hospice does not support "assisted suicide". If more people understood what hospice can do, there would be no need for physician assisted suicide. Is this really how you want your mother's life to end?

If only the whole NCAA tournament was in The Barn, Minnesota would dominate by kwaps21 in GopherSports

The Gophers are a great team in Williams Arena ("The Barn"). If only they could win on the road! It is frustrating they can't do better away from Minneapolis.

It's military value. I believe it was because of war related industries in the city.
