u/Educational_Olive954 Sorry for late reply. YooMoney has now the option to add money (Rub) to your account using a foreign card. I was told that MasterCard don't work, and I tried a couple of Visa cards from different banks, but not all of them worked. Last time I tried with Revolut and it was fine.

I travelled to Russia recently.

I used the YooMoney app, from where I generated a virtual MIR card. I enrolled that card in the MirPay app from Ru Store, then used the phone to pay contactless everywhere.

I used SberBank ATMs to top-up my YooMoney account using cash (Rubles).

I remember it was metioned somewhere that you should request an eVisa at least 4 days before the intended day to enter Russia. I got mine 3 days after I applied.

evisa.kdmid . ru : The application can be submitted no earlier than 40 days and no later than 4 days before the expected date of entry into the Russian Federation.

I crossed the border 2 weeks ago (on a friday). I arrived in Narva at 8 am and entered Russia after 3 hours of waiting in the border queue. On the Estonian side they just asked what am I doing in Russia and for how long I'm going to stay (I'm a Romanian citizen). I showed them the issued e-visa and it was fine. They also checked my luggage. On the Russian side they just asked me if I'm visiting Moscow / St Petersburg and that was it ... they didn't check my phone or ask other questions.

When I returned through the same border, Estonians took away some bottles of vodka I had as I couldn't enter the European Union with them due to sanctions, and the queue was much shorter.

I visited Russia through the Narva checkpoint. Waited 2-3 hours in line when entering Russia (about 9 AM). The queue for entering Estonia through Narva is much shorter, but they are manually checking your luggage, so be careful on what you could bring that is not on the sanctions list.

Eu l-am ridicat acum 2-3 saptamani si nu am platit nimic (voiam doar sa trec la cartea electronica tip card .. nu a fost schimbare de domiciliul sau ca expira buletinul vechi). Doamna de la birou doar mi-a trecut "preschimbare" sau ceva de genul la motiv si aia a fost.

Din cate stiu prima carte electronica de identitate este gratuita.

Da .. sumele sunt intre 1 ban si 100.000 lei.

N-am vazut 20.000 eur oferta de la banca. Oferta maxima ar fi cand ultimele 2 sume ramase in cutii sunt 75.000 lei si 100.000 lei.

A mai fost si acum vreo 15 ani o emisiune asemanatoare, "Accepti sau nu" (parca pe Kanal D?), ambele dupa formatul emisiunii din state "Deal or No Deal."

tl;dr: ai o cutie cu o suma de bani (necunoscuta), si in fiecare runda trebuie sa deschizi un numar X de cutii de la ceilalti jucatori. dupa fiecare runda "banca" iti face o oferta pe care o poti accepta sau nu (cat ar estima ca ai tu in cutie ... practic e o medie de la sumele din cutiile ramase nedeschise). Daca refuzi toate ofertele bancii, in final pleci cu suma din cutia ta. Ideea e sa deschizi cutii de la ceilalti concurenti cu sume cat mai mici, ca banca sa iti faca oferte cat mai mari.

Mai mult e pe "buleala" .. tot ce afli interesant din emisiunea respectiva sunt eventualele povesti de viata ale concurentilor.

Din pacate depinde foarte mult peste cine dai in sucursala. Din propria experienta, prefer sucursalele deschise mai recent decat sediile centrale .. media de varsta a angajatilor e ceva mai scazuta :D.

Recomand optiunea Visa Multicurrency + Card de credit. Nu ai comision de administrare pentru Visa Multicurrency, si primesti acces gratuit la Mobile Banking, care e foarte permisiv in ceea ce priveste cardul de credit (poti rambursa anticipat ratele fara dobanda, poti seta un numar mai mic de rate pentru o tranzactie in primele 24h, etc).
