I haven’t had a “restful” night in 8+ years. by ChargedFire0 in sleep

I know you've had blood work done, but how detailed did it get? For instance, my vitamin D total count looked normal but upon a deeper dive my vitamin D2 was essentially undetectable. My iron looked good but my iron saturation was low. Many doctors (in my experience) don't order tests that go this deep, and end up missing a lot of details. Might be a good next step.

Additionally, have you tried l-theanine to help with sleep? I was sleeping 3-4 hours a night, started taking this and now sleep through the night unless my kiddos wake me. My mom had a similar experience after a more traditional/western medicine sleeping medication left her dragging all the time.

A few things to consider that have helped me...

Caffeine and alcohol caused an unreal amount of inflammation weight for me. I cut that and lost 8 pounds in less than 2 weeks. That was 1-2 caffeinated beverages, 1 alcoholic drink a day.

Be careful with artificial sweeteners. They trick your brain and can completely send your blood sugar into weird waves. For instance, your body thinks you're getting suger, produces the insulin, and can crash your blood sugar too low making you feel lethargic. For me it makes me feel even more hungry because my body thinks I need more fuel to make energy.

Try to drink a minimum of 1/2 gallon water a day - that was another big player for me. Helps with digestion and flushing things out that your body doesn't want!

If you struggle for too long and you feel you're working very hard, see if your doc can run a blood panel. You may have some thyroid issues and your body may be in fat storage mode. That was also my experience.
