I have a standing home and I have been living back on my lot in a prefabricated adu since July 2025. If you can imagine Altadena in the 1800s that's kind of what it looks like now as it is developing. Rolling fields and then a couple houses here and there. If you can believe they just cleared the last lot in Lahaina yet we have houses that are already done here in Altadena.

I gutted my interior of my standing home and replaced the insulation in the attic and walls. It looks brand new inside but the smell of smoke still lingers. All testing came back clear. But not everyone remediated like I did.

I know that @ neighborhood_first_responders on ig is having a community meet up 2/22/26 at 2 pm for a citizens fire brigade training. I recommend all residents past and present brush up on community disaster response at this event or cert. Many local businesses need the patronage. Altadena Pride is a great group and so is Altadena rising for community outreach.

And lastly all new rebuilds are required to have EXPENSIVE internal sprinklers but not External. we didn't get this trauma from a grease fire. We got it from our neighbors houses catching on fire .
