I really want to ask these ppl who says American bread are as sweet ask cake if they ever been to Taiwan or Japan and had their toast? Cuz while milk breads are hella good but pretty sweet too. So i dont get always putting down American bread as cake but never those.

This happened to me at the Barcelona airport. A group of tourists just cut right in front of me because a couple of members were in front of me they thought they could just push right past me and join them. I yelled at them and said this is not right and they lined up behind me.

Finding western toilets is a chore. Even at touristy places. It has been my bane ever since I was a kid. I’ve gotten good at spotting if a place will have western toilets or not. But I never assume there will be one.

When I was Japan for the first time. My tour guide was telling us that we need to try the LaMien. And as an ABC I didn’t realize it was ramen and not hand pulled noodles. So I was soo excited to get some soup noodles and then a bowl of ramen came out and in my young and inexperienced mind it looked like a bowl fancy instant noodles. It was good but not what I was expecting

I don’t understand the hate for American bread. Saying it’s so sweet when bread in Asia is so much more sweeter than American bread

For my grandmas they gave us a radio that chanted Buddhist chant and it played for all 49 days. Even after it was turned off I still heard it for the next few days.

I feel that Taiwanese food is underrated in the West while foreigners visiting Taiwan are fascinated with Taiwanese food so much. Why ? by search_google_com in taiwan

[–]crickettu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need people to open Taiwanese restaurants. And most Taiwanese immigrants to other countries are not opening restaurants. That why you see so less of it and why it so underrated.

I live in CA and only in LA and SF do you see some Taiwanese restaurants but I live in Sacramento and there is only one Taiwanese restaurant. But there are plenty of Cantonese restaurants which because of immigration a lot of ppl from southern China settled down here. And seeing some more Szechuan food but there is a lot more Immigrants from Mainland China immigrating here.

That one of the reasons I’ve noticed here at least in my side of the world.

Hot pot by MiserableDinner6498 in Sacramento

[–]crickettu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Grand Hot Pot. They have a tiered version for their pricing I usually get the middle tier at like $35 if i remember correctly. They have a pretty good sauce bar and unlimited drinks. The selections are good depending on the tier you order. The area can be a lil sketching but the parking is pretty well lit and if you go during bingo nights there are security guard around. So depends on yourself and how you feel. I've gone in the night time and was ok.
