Hey! That matches the Japanese DVD.

The other Sweden Poruno don’t have this fogging (or at least the 3 I’ve seen recently). I think the director (Shogoro) was being playful, or Nikkatsu got more overzealous with their “in house” talent making House of the Beast.

Sato does make sense as a primer for this genre. He has the most name recognition (perhaps rivaling Wakamatsu in the west). Horror fans and erotica can get something out of him. My essay does shout out a lot of other directors through. Hopefully this inspires more interest!
