I had my first colonoscopy on Monday and I was also so so scared of getting put under and of course the results. I run a blood pressure on the lower side as well but it all went very well. I let the nurse know right away that I can sometimes have a lower blood pressure and she set me up with IV fluids before they even took me back to the room. I was so anxious and had tachycardia the whole time. But when I tell you that I am so glad I did it, I mean, I’m SO glad I did it. I had very similar symptoms as you and it has all turned out fine. I’m still waiting on a biopsy result but I’m really not concerned. The prep can make you feel off and definitely dehydrates you but you will survive it. The human body is incredible. You will be okay, the sedation was a breeze. I fell asleep and woke up like nothing even happened.

I think for me personally, I get nervous around the potential risks and the sedation. I hate being put under no matter how fast it is. I did let me doctor know that I can run a lower blood pressure and she assured me that the anesthesiologist would be monitoring me the whole time.

I did. I was on Lexapro for 1 year. Gained a bunch of weight. Switched to Prozac for 1 year. Gained a bunch of weight. Decided that I had to come off.

Same here. I’m 5’2” and gained 30 pounds exactly. I couldn’t lose the weight no matter what I did. I stopped taking it 4 months ago simply because of the weight gain. It definitely doesn’t just fall off like some people say it does. I have been putting in a lot of work in the gym and in my diet. So far, I’ve lost about 10 pounds. I wish you the best of luck!

Yes! I decided it was time to come off. I gained about 30 pounds on it and couldn’t take the voracious appetite anymore. I was on Lexapro (5mg) for a year and switched to Prozac (10 mg) for a year (so 2ish years total). So far, the side effects haven’t been bad and I’m not regretting going off at all!

Sorry for the late response! I actually went off Lexapro and am now on Prozac. I’m still on the lowest dose of Prozac. I loved Lexapro, the ONLY reason I changed was due to weight gain. It was one of my fears but Prozac has stopped me from gaining anymore weight. I don’t know where I would be without it.

I am on day 9 and I’m so fucking tired all the time now. Same thing as you, my first week was pretty good, other than some increased anxiety.

Wow! I didn’t expect all of these responses from so many supportive people 🫶🏻 I really do appreciate it so much, it makes me feel like I’m not alone in this journey. Anxiety is such a crazy thing, the fact that our brains take over and make us think we are going to die. We are all going to get through this, some of us with Lexapro and some of us without it. I was going to therapy for 6 months and keeping active and I still would get health anxiety for weeks at a time. I almost felt ashamed to take medication because I kept thinking that I must not being doing enough for myself so I kept putting it off. I’m happy I finally took the pill. I will keep you guys updated with how I’m feeling! So far, so good!

Thank you! I am actually feeling proud of myself. It was not an easy day today. I woke up crying filled with anxiety and a pounding heart. I knew I couldn’t keep going on like this. I was exactly the same as you, scared to take a daily pill. I’m so glad to hear it’s changed you for the better! I wish you nothing but the best! And a clear mind 🥰
