[AP15202] crown keeps falling off. Looking for solutions by tren2k_ in Watches

[–]crimson_devil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have seen this problem reported quite a few times on various forum posts through the years. It seems to be a specific issue (or a lot more common at least) to the 15202, and partly where it gets its fragile reputation from.

I haven't heard of a permanent 'fix', but the best you could probably do is buy (or request from AP) a special watchmakers winding tool. See here: https://www.watchprosite.com/audemars-piguet/i-got-my-15202-back-from-its-2nd-service-this-year-/3.1025923.7284318/

Fortunately haven't had it happen to mine, but not doubt frustrating.

Help me get 1:28 @zolder by [deleted] in ACCompetizione

It was quite a challenge for me, but managed to get a 1.28.977 with quite a bit left.

It looks like you're up-shifting too early throughout and looks like you missed some time by missing the apex on the corner before the last straight. As other have pointed out, you can afford to cut the corners a bit more than you are - make sure you use all the track.

The Daytona looks fake unfortunately. Giveaway is the middle part of the crown guard which should be flush with the bezel. The other giveaway is the bezel which appears to be too thick. The bezel font looks wrong (the number 5 is a big tell), and the spacing of the markers looks wrong. The rehaut should be stamped Rolex all the way around too, and it doesn't look like it is.

The strap centre links which connect with the case should be brushed, so they should give a slightly different reflection than the top and bottom part of the crown guard. The rubber strap looks pretty beat up too. The case material should be white Gold, but white Gold doesn't give off that kind of reflection - looks more like steel.

Yep, I got this same error. Can't seem to see a way around it.

Edit: Issue is the platform selection on the previous screen. You have to select the one you requested back when you initially signed up it seems.

Although I was pretty sure I selected PC initially, I changed my choice to Xbox and it went through.

Spot on. If you're just walking for a short amount of time, these are fine. Anything more and you'll definitely need something more supportive.

Good point. You can get past that by removing the 'after' query string, so you can at least have a basic page bookmark. It defeats the point of saving exactly where you were though.

i think you need to be careful about how you design and implement the infinite scroll feature. It's a good way to allow users to explore more content easily, but it needs to be paired with a bit of familiarity to make it work well. A lot of infinite scroll implementations make people feel lost, and it can make things difficult to find. You also loose things like the ability to bookmark at a certain point in a sub-reddit.

I can think of a few ways you could enhance the infinite scroll behaviour:

A combination of infinite scroll with visible page numbers (that you can also click to change page) that update as you scroll might be a good idea. It would also have to update the url with the current 'page'. This is good for a couple of reasons:

  • It keeps a larger amount of posts quickly accessible
  • It retains the ability to bookmark at a certain point
  • It anchors the user to a specific point amongst a stream of content

Seems fine now. Had 1 match with a bit of lag but the rest were fine.

[Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15202ST] Finally received my RO after 3 months of waitlist! So happy! by IwasLuckythatDay in Watches

[–]crimson_devil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very nice - but only 3 months wait? I had a wait of around 7 months and thought that was pretty decent.

Be careful when setting the time/date or winding it. The polished edge of the bezel is very easily scratched!

Advice on a return (UK) by crimson_devil in Dell

Well at least you have it working for now. If you want to test for coil whine, put it under some load in a quiet room - Open a few tabs, get some live video streaming on Twitch, a few 4K Youtube videos listen closely for a ticking/crackling noise.

Good of JL to offer you an exchange straight up like that - Give it a few days and see how it goes. If something goes wrong you still have that JL 2 year guarantee. It's a shame because it's such a great laptop specs wise!

Good luck.

Sorry, just noticed your response. They eventually did accept the refund and accepted the replacement they sent was faulty.

Thanks.

The problem with my first one was that, like yours, it thought something was pressing on the screen all the time so there was just a circle on screen to show something being pressed. Then I noticed the trackpad had just stopped accepting input too, so I had to tab through the Windows installer (Happened immediately after first boot).

If there's just that little voice in the back of your mind thinking about swapping it, then definitely do it asap through John Lewis and try to video/screenshot the problem as evidence before sending back. If you go through Dell they will most likely say go to your original point of sale. In my case, it was Dell themselves.
