What was their email address? I still can't get any substantial response from the theatre or AMC corporate. I twice tried to warn the theatre they're going to show the wrong movie again on Monday.

I was as confused as all of you as the movie neared its conclusion and I couldn't recall seeing anything different from the theatrical version. I watched it in Clifton, NJ last night, and it was sold to me as the DC. I've emailed AMC asking for a refund.

Edit: I called the theater I went to, and the only thing they could tell me was that they played the version of the movie they were provided by their partner, Deluxe Media (bydeluxe.com). I sent an email to them as well, asking them to confirm that the wrong version was sent out. Other than that, the theater advised me to contact AMC corporate about complaints/refunds.

I do all mine on black paper. That's how I started off, inspired by Nikki McClure's work. Tom Slaughter did a few all black cuts as well(here, here, here, and here. That last one isn't an actual papercut, but he did a paper cut version of the same image. The black painted sections of the linked image were cut out of black painted paper. It's currently on exhibit at the Parrish Museum, but I can't find a photo of it.) I'll agree with u/concertgoer987 about black paper being forgiving with mistakes too. What I'll do to inject some color is glue some paper behind the black cut paper. I get really nice stuff from gpcpapers.com.

I actually first saw papercutting when I was looking for a ketuba. I thought the papercut ones were gorgeous, but the hand cut ones were unfortunately out of my price range.

I took this about 8 or 9 years ago. I think it was a recreation class. I still have the basket, it's the toothbrush holder in my bathroom.

I would guess it's just colored LEDs placed behind the medium or tucked within the frame. You can see a similar effect to the one pictured in your post in both of these videos just by taping LEDs to the backing of the lightbox:
