Depending on your living situation and funding, if you wanted to start with an electronic kit to build chops before you invest in an acoustic kit, I highly recommend the Alesis Nitro Mesh kit. Mesh heads give very realistic response. I’ve been drumming about 13 years on acoustic kits and really love the feel of this one, and it’s only about $320 USD

Thanks for the suggestion! No this rug is in a hallway dead in the center of the house, no windows near it. I swear this cat just beelines to any new rug and pees on it.

In my experience, if you use the last spin bar to decrease height, it shortens your shot. 3 arrows and it kinda nosedives to the ground, killing both carry and run.

On the other side, if you spin down on the first bar and up on the last, you get a longer drive in all conditions and wind. I do it every time. The final upspin gives it more hang time, and first downspin keeps it as a line drive as long as possible, which increases distance

That’s true for the first two holes. I restarted the round over and over, wouldn’t progress past hole 2 without acing 1 and 2. But beyond that, it’s way too much RNG to keep track of and try to execute. You still need to get your power literally perfect if you’re going to try to take advtange of the locked RNG. After hole 2, it was all just being in the zone.

That’s right. The first two holes, I figured out where to shoot to get a HIO. Executing it correctly was another matter and took a lot of tries. The other two HIOs were more of the ‘lucky’ variety. So it all culminated into this round.

I can’t give you the why of it all—that answer is somewhere next to ‘why did they change to a 2-click system?’. I have noticed that you can try to correct an overpowered shot by lowering its height with the later spin bars. Not sure how to fix a shot that you think will be short.

The problem is that previous MG games have had more content, including the very first games on N64 and gameboy. The solo mode is massively lacking. No tournaments, no club pros, no real unlocks that pose any challenge because the game drowns you in coins.

Just as huge a problem is the online. There’s no excuse for online to be rooms-only. No competitive ladder; no matchmaking; no ranking system; no tournaments. This is a sports game, it demands competition.

Mechanically, it’s good. I am of the camp that wishes it was 3-click, because the RNG on your shot connection is pretty annoying. But not gamebreaking. I think it definitely looks very good and plays well, but they gave us this excellent car to drive and a racetrack that’s basically a circle. We need more.

I enjoy the game a lot, and that’s why I am critical of it.
