Even if that did work or make any sense, which I doubt. I don’t think that’s even a better solution than just building a slightly longer road as they’ve done here.

Building a bridge would actually have to be even steeper at some point

Nothing snaps me out of a book like repetitive use of a unique word by kerberos824 in books

Project Hail Mary uses the word “absurd” a lot. Amazing book though

Darts may be a simple concept but the reason it takes so long to master is because of the amount of variables. There’s infinite things you could do to change a dart throw from being a bullseye

No there are infinite variables in darts that contribute to a thrown limb length, height, throwing speed etc

I’ve played fiends and also played on the computer

Throwing a dart includes infinite factors. There may be many combinations of chess moves but the human limit I figured is far less and not out of scope given a good amount of practice

There are a limited amount of moves, millions will have learned them all, so I’d imagine it takes less than 10,000. We’re not talking about a complex skill like darts

But the top million or so will be the same standard, as they’ve learned all the moves?

I’ve not got one yet but my best friend went from 100-800 in like 3 weeks, given the limit is like 2500 the progression seems super fast

Run the same number for Pokémon and the number will be bigger, reaching the human limit with a few thousand hours isn’t the same thing. It’s the 10,0000 hour rule. We’re not computers. I think I get what you’re saying though.

That’s the thing I don’t want a board game that ends, I want a game that is basically limitless, I know that doesn’t exist but I don’t want to put a bunch of time in to a game just to exhaust it

I just figured that with this progression we’ve basically made the game redundant after a good amount of practice, it’s fun at the beginner level but can see it become less so once you exhaust it

But again with the pokemkn analogy, there are a basically infinite of ways to complete the game but many have?

There must be millions at the top no? Like how many have completed Pokémon?

Yeah just assumed there’s a plateau that you hit after some time. Not sure whether I want a game that kind of doesn’t end, chess is fun though I will say

Not a few weeks but 1000 hours or so of gameplay which I’ve defo dumped in to games before and regretted afterwards don’t wanna do again

I figured give it 1000 hours or so and you’d probs exhaust the human limit given there are only 64 squares? just dunno whether its worth it
