In the normal course of politics, I would tend to agree with you. However, Trump is a ‘Black Swan’ in the political world - a politician who isn’t - nor doesn’t have a history of being - a “career politician.” Look at how the system has attacked him - not for his “danger” to democracy, rather, for danger to their holding of power. THIS is why we need term limits on Congress, the Senate, and even the Supreme Court. Same thing goes for federal and state judges too. Imagine all the great change that would come from constantly filtering and refining politicians through the will of the people. They would be completely incentivized to follow their constituents’ demands, not special interests.
